So I moved up to Wellington...

And this is what the moving company did to my bike. Apologies for the blurry photos -- I could hardly tell when I took them, what with the red mist.

So, now to find a decent repair shop in the Porirua to Paraparaumu area and get me a quote.

There isn't one as far as I know. Best bet (and closest) would be TSS in the Hutt. 5693989, hit 2 when the automated phone answers, ask to speak to Darren. Tell him Jim Walsh sent you.

It's nice here. I'm liking it, even though I'm living a little bit out. But, yeah, I like the place so far.

I have to go the insurance route at least as far as getting quotes and a settlement, because I paid to insure my stuff against this damage when I moved it -- essentially I'm recouping the $600 I paid them to protect me from their incompetence, not making a claim against my regular motorcycle insurance.

However, if they settle cash rather than making me complete the quoted repairs, I'll probably buy parts and do the mechanical work myself (I suspect that at the very least they've popped my fork seals and broken my clutch lever.) Plastic work, though, I'm not so good at, so thanks for the tip.

Might even spring for a complete respray, if he does that sort of thing.

crazefox is good bloke. He's doing some work on my Katana and the work that I've seen him do for others has been very, very good. If you do go the Insurance route, use TSS.

good luck on the damage repair. I don't think movers realise just how much damage they can do!

So I'm sitting here waiting for my bike to show up in a crate all the way from Perth, should have turned up yesterday, supposed to be today

every time I hear a truck backing or see a truck stop (Pack & Save over road), even a decent size courier van (-sure Dave) I jump out for a look.

& now I see this thread.

Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

When we moved back to NZ, the moving company (can't remember who) even managed to fuck up our pushbikes. Unbelievable. Good thing I wasn't shipping a bike, I would've burst a nut.

    Just arrived!!!!

It's ok, but a couple of scratches I'd heard about. Needs a good clean & going over. Hmm, afternoon off maybe?
