I have no grounds for complaint with Colemans. I have a friend who got a pretty good deal off them not so long back...

Well to be honest, both Redbaron and Colemans are Dealers . They greet you, they smile at you and they shake hands with you when you are in the building.

In my own experience: When I crashed my old 125cc scooter, I took it to the colemans to see how bad the damage was.

What they said was "Ah it's bad. Side is all scratched, fork bent, brake lever bent, headlight gone etc etc etc..... Its gonna cost fortune to fix... It should be written off... So, are you looking forward to buy a bike or another scooter? "

IMO, I suggest you Redbaron if you are not buying a used bike. Max (dealer) is a good guy, he made a sweet deal on my bike Also he helped me getting accessories + service + repairs etc

    He goes extra mile

    Mustard = Yes
Motorcycle shop = undecided. Their accessory shop staff were mildly helpful but I didn't really click with sales staff the last few times I've been in there window shopping. I guess I'd consider them if I was buying a Suzuki, but not sure about other makes.

I've purchased from them, ordered spares from them and had maintenance done by them. They performed well on all. The name Alistair pops up and he is a good keen young man who can be trusted. I have also had similar dealings with Haldanes and they are just fine too. Can't comment on the rest.

Couple of years ago I was at Colemans for parts. Not a happy experience I think they were rude. But in the last 3 months I have been in there and things have improve. Service and parts were great. Was in there just 3 weeks ago looking at the red CBR 1000 they had for sale. Sale guy I think was Alan was nice and helpful to show me around. All good now...

My current understanding is that all the good people (i.e., sarge and the guy who dose suspension) have left.
Only had service and parts from colemans. The parts guys are bloody good and I had no complaints with the service.

Only had service from Barons and again no complaints. The cost in each case was known up front too which I prefer.

However for the best deals and service see my sig - but don't say I sent you.

I've just bought a Bandit 250 from Coleman's, so I certainly hope it is a reputable dealership!

Spoke with Alastair personally - good guy, and was most helpful for a newbie like myself.

Well I voted to trust them, because I have no reason not to.

A lot of people have had good things to say, on the other hand they are not a preferred dealer for me because they have succeeded in not taking my money on at least two occasions, in spite of having the money for the bike they had.

I do hope that before you posted such a contentious statement on the internet you gave them the opportunity to rectify your perceived slight. If not that makes you the lesser man, not them the lesser shop.

Yes, recently I have had a vested interest in this as I have started working at Red Baron on weekends, however the above comments are motivated by 6 yeas of satisfied custom not company loyalty.

I have no idea about Colmans .

But dont think you could go to far wrong with Maunders here in Whangarei.

Cant tell you how good they are,(Colemans) only how silly they are, I went in to buy a new bike earlier this year, paid three visits to look around, each time it was a mission to get anyone who wanted to serve me, they were reluctant even to give me a deal/figure..
result.... I took my money, walked out and went over to Holeshot in takapuna, who couldnt be more helpfull. So I spent over $23,000.00 with em, and have since dealt with holeshots spare parts dept also, again brilliant service.. cant recommend em enough..

The one time I had a service done by Colemans I was extremely impressed with the service. Excellent job of going the extra mile for a very fussy client who expects the highest standards. They are just a bit far away with traffic etc for me to use them 'regularly'.

As far as sales goes, they lost the bid for the M109 deal because they didn't have the stock, but they did follow up to their credit. Overall, I was pleased - but I have never bought a second hand bike.
