    What battery for ZX9R ??

My Motorcycle license is in a state of disrepute at the moment (damn gay paper license that i never renewed stung me) and I havent been able to ride the bike much, battery has gone completely flat and doesnt hold a charge.

How many CCA / Amp hours will I be needing for my new battery ? Wouldnt mind a gel one...

    cheers

Ah ...er.... a rectangle shaped one, and two lead pointy things on the top.

Mine is out in the carpark at the mo, no doubt someone will get the info to you before I go home, I,ve done two batteries due to bike sitting around.

Do you have to go through the 250cc thing again or do sit the tests etc and go back to unlimited cc.

I havent looked too deep into it to be honest.. I wont be going back to a 250, I just couldnt bring myself to ride one (plus cant be fecked buying another one)

I just planned to sit learners, sit restricted in 3 months, then full in six... i think i can do that, need to get off my arse and get it organised, the mrs misses the rides to puhoi!

Actually wouldnt mind a RGV250m or a road legal RMX250 (motard)... bit of cash to tie up for only a few months of riding though...

GAH, wish I hadn't been a slacker now

8 Amp/hour battery, Mine is a Yuasa YTX9-BS, a fairly common battery, actually purchased the last one from a Honda agency.

That's a small low power battery - won't cost the earth.
    It's carbed though I guess.
A lot of new bikes have $200 batteries or more.
Does your bike have carb freeze in the dead of winter at all?
A mate of mine had that problem as his carbs werent water heated.

    Cheers

Yep, my carbs freeze real bad, the best fix i found is Silkolene PRO FST, put in about 100mls per tank refill. Is Isopropyle alc based with a lubricant to stop freezing on a shut throttle.
