Each to thier own bro and I like the "Roadie" aswell, I just like the Hammer better.

I like all cruisers though. Just the styling and that hardcore look that always comes with them. The sound aswell. I still get goosebumps everytimeI start up my bike. Just some bikes I won't buy but will gladly ride, some I would buy and ride everyday and everything in between.

That Hammer has cool styling except for the mufflers, they need to be more hardcore/custom

I'd ride it to see what it was like because I've never ridden a cruiser before, but as I know I love sports bikes, I'd not plan on keeping it. If it were a Harley (overpriced!), I'd sell it and buy two real bikes, but it if was one of those cheaper cruisers, I'd keep it for sunny days or use it as a spare!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I believe you can get helmets which are actually proper approved helmets but have an outward appearance after the form of a German WW2 infantry helmet.

(Now , a picklehaub, that would be somewhat cool)

I bet most of you dissing Harleys have never even ridden one. Let alone a late model job.

Nowdays H-D's are lovely motorcycles - particularly if you want to ride mostly legal, comfortably, carry a passenger and do it with real 'feel good'. I find they very aesthetically pleasing, well finished and desirable.

They have strong riding clubs, dealer support and an endless range of accessories and toys in what is a very complete package.

Most are also well suited to very tall people. (me)

Not everyone wants a 3000kph, uncomfortable, no passenger, immediate loss of licence, track bike.

I find the poll options and some of the resonses a little offensive. Particularly the 'real bike' thing. In general Harleys and the owners I've hung out with are just as real - and possibly more hard core - than any other bike - it's just a matter of taste.

Dude - good call. You're right I've never ridden one, and to be honest I'm not interested -just personal choice from the styling perspective. That's not to say they ARE ugly - just that I think they are.

If you enjoy riding them - go for it. I'm not going to diss you for it.

Bloody good post too - reps for it!

Thanks - and that's the right attitude - say 'not for me because' and everyone will respect it - but 'push it off a cliff' does a dis-service to the cool people who ride them.

(There are some toss pots on 'em too no doubt - but the same is true of a Van Van for eg)

FWIW I like my Trumpets because they are the best of both worlds.

Very true. A biker never disses another biker's ride

You also don't see cruiser riders blaming the bike or road conditions for any handling short comings - not saying cruisers can't handle, personaly I like cruiser handling,it's just that they love and accept what they have.Us dual sport riders will never stop complaining about how poor the on or off road handling is,bleat about not finding the perfect tyre etc, sports bike riders are continualy on about pea gravel and road works.
