Lovely to see we are all interested and offering opinions.

I have made a committment to attend this ride on Saturday because I think these WRB's should be made safe! Personally I am 200% behind the people that are organising this ride, at short notice, with family and work committments to consider, they have a difficult job to do. Cant believe I am saying this but, wish I lived in Auckland so I could help them!

    Guys see you Saturday!

Hope there is a good turn out. I have riden at Poker Runs that don't brake even if they get less than 200bikes. I hope we end up with at least this.

Can someone tell me how empty this piece of land would be on a Saturday from 11am to 1pm?

Its to the left of the motorway, at Ramarama, as you head north. There is also Maher Road, just off to one side, that is a dead end. Seems to be good for stacking them in, unless someone knows something?

    Hi all,

Please excuse me, I'm new. I posted this last night but this looks like the place it should have gone to.

Some one told me about this and it sounds good. One question though, last time I went to the domain on a weekend afternoon with the lady we had trouble finding parking for 1 car let alone 130 bikes. Admittedly this was a while ago, so what's the oil on best areas to find a park?

    Cheers.

    park on the grass?

maybe around the monument/guns outside the museum?

grass shouldn't be too bad - my stand has this bit of rubber to stop it going through dirt

(PROTIP: if you need to put your bike on it's sidestand on soft dirt/sand, bring a small block of wood or grab a bit or bark from a garden, needs only be and inch square)

You're new to this, aren't you?

Follow the bikes in front. Park where they park. You are on a motorcycle. You park just whereever you want to. Works for me

Hopefully there will be a LOT more than 130.

So DON'T be a sheep and just follow whoever is in front of you.

No not new to this. Just don't see where you are going to park all those bikes without doing so illegally. There are no parking on the grass all over the place, and I would have thought that the last thing we want to do is come across as 'lawless' bikers especially given most the publics views that it was the riders fault for doing 150kph.

    All the best.

It's interesting you say that, as when I discussed the ride at work and stuck a poster on the noticeboard, the comment from all the staff was along the lines of "do the crime do the time". It wasn't until I took the discussion further they saw where we were coming from, but I don't think they really were convinced. As none of them rode bikes they look at it as something that won't affect them I guess.

We need to be seen as firm in what we are standing for but not lawless, as that would enforce many of the public's views.
