Plug has pulled the plug. Plug can fill in the details more but most likely that Plug wont be joining us for the DB1k this year. He decided to check out the scenic route when on Lees Valley ride today. See post 37 and on in this thread.

Of course now we'll just have to do the first route for a 3rd time so Plug can catch up later in 08.
So now I've printed the route sheet as per post 130 and made the 3 small changes as in post 217 so as soon as I've stuck em together I'm ready to go.

My impending holiday meens patchy internet between now and DB day so see you all then.. if not before. And a reminder that some of us are planing a run over the Maungatapu the afternoon before to get ourselves ready and shingleised.

As Transalper said some of us are thinking about a run up the Mangatapu and back on the arvo of the 4th. All are most welcome to come and find out what the Mangatapu is like (or just go for a ride).

Meet at the DB1k start (carpark) at 2pm.

What time are people who are comming from christchurch likely to be heading through Blenheim? Just thinking that would be good to meet then ride to Nelson together.

    Right...
The 2-dayer overnight in St Arnaud is at SpearGrass Station about 5 min out of St Arnaud in the direction of the next checkpoint.
Ian has said it's ok to camp around the shearing shed but there are going to be lots of sheepies and lambies around there MAAAAAAing all night.
He's got some alternatives including one a km away across the river by the hayshed that should be quieter.
Whichever it is, it should be signposted with fluro green/red arrows but if we meet up at St Arnaud and then ride out tgether it'll be no problem.
