    No, it's actually the roading engineers. If they made the roads less good, people wouldn't be able to speed.

    Bring back gravel, in the interests of safety!

    Condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.

    This is the worst possible nightmare! We riders accept some amount of risk but a lovely wee girl who had a whole life to live. I was on the Dunedin toy run and there were heaps of happy young children on the back of bikes including my own and I can only begin to imagine how the family feels.
    This may affect a lot of us when deciding - do we give our kids a wonderful time and let them ride with us - or tell them no?

    Condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.

    Thoughts go out the the MacDonald family. To lose both father and daughter is a real nightmare.

    I haven't read the whole thread but it looks like an earlier report was incorrect, Olivia (the 11yo girl) has not died but is in intensive care.
