    Starter solenoid?

starter solenoid, are these interchangable between bikes, provided they had an equal size fuse? (30a) or does it need to be bike, year and model specific?

I'd have thought that as long as they have the same current rating and connections it should be all good. If it blows up then I guess I was wrong.

    You are right mate.
The solenoid is just a relay, so as long as you have the right coil voltage, in this case 12 volts, and the current rating of the solenoids are the same, or the new one has a higher rating you are good to go......

I hate bloody bike solenoids. Far too small and mingy. Go to Supercheap and get a honking big truck unit (about $20). That'll NEVER die .

Yeah, they'r epretty interchageable. Only points to watch are (a) voltage - duh and (b) some earth through the body of the switch (for the coil) some have a separate earth connection., if your starter switch is "make to ground" as many are you need the separate connection one.
