I think the point was NOT that delusionz was doing anything to piss the guy off, but perhaps he is paying for the antics of other riders who have somehow managed to get certain cagers worked up over anyone on two wheels. And I also think that the behind the wheel of that car was an exceptionally sick example of road rage. My suspicions are that he (I am assuming it was a he) could well have done the same sort of shit to a little girl cage driver. I had a similar experience years ago driving my car and the guy chasing me through residential streets thought it was hilarious, could see him laughing in my rear vision mirror; I was terrified. Fuckwit. But back to my point, i don't think anyone is saying delusionz necessarily did anything to bring this upon himself.

Oh my god , I have a story from today too. Traffic lights, me and my mate staying on traffic lights waiting for green on our bikes behind 5 cars. Then a girl puld right behind us from a side street and she didnt see that there is no enough space for her dum cage to get in da lane so half her ass is in the other direction lane. Anyway , green comes , my friend and I depart on our bikes and we are in a chess formation ( by the book). after 200 meters she overtakes us both at speed by going into the oncoming traffic about 30 cm from me - we were doing 60k ish in a 50k area and she must have been on 70 - dumb cow. lucky, I say LUCKY that there was no oncoming car ahead of her because if there was I'm sure she would have swerved and hit us. I got so so so angry , I swear on the traffic lights (after 700m) when she stoped I unloaded my best colourful language I could find but, I still didnt feel any satisfactory. She just stood there and looked at me like she could see trough me. I so wanted to dent her dum cage but didn't do is coz I was afraid someone will take my rego and I'll have trouble with police. But FFS man what can I do in a situation like that - I literaly coud brake all ger windows and hit her car with an AX 70 times before I would have stoped. Any sugestion how I can cope with road rage inside me without actually hurting anyone or damajing property ?

    Advice apprechiated.

just to add, someone once told me on another thread just to accept that all cagers will hate me and want to run-me-off-the-road type of thing just because I'm on a bike. I reckon there are cagers out there who just hate everyone no matter what mode of transport the objects of their hate are driving/riding.

Fucked if I know mate. Any time someone threatens your life you're bound to get upset about it.

I can forgive bad driving as ignorance and plain stupidity but deliberatly using their cars as weapons fucks me off as much as someone waving a loaded gun around at a party would. Not doing something about it feels worse.

Yep. There's plenty of those people out there. They'll snap the mirror off a merc just because it's an expensive car or tip your bike over because it's better than they'll ever have.

There's plenty of haters out there. Just stay away wherever possible and let them self destruct.

Well, not ALL cagers. But there are nutters out there and they do drive cages. And, unfortunately, cages do not come with big labels on saying "This one's bike aware"; "this one's friendly but stupid"; or , "BEWARE: Homocidal nutter". So, you must assume the worst and take it that any given cage may be driven by Mr H Nutter. On his bad day. When he hasn't taken his pills.

I hope this thread keeps people on their wits about road rage. I never expected it, I've never had anyone intentionally aim their vehicle at me before. Definitely a whole new experience for me and it was very real too, I thought a good chase like that belongs in the movies...

Hehe, But I do tend to trust vehicles which display an "*Italian flag* I'd rather be riding my DUCATI" bumper sticker

I wouldn't worry too much about someone taking your rego. I booted the arse out of a guys car earlier this month after he physically nudged me in the leg. Never heard a peep.

Spoke to a copper I know about the incident, as far as he was concerned any biker that is willing to risk injury to himself on a bike to boot a car the car driver must have really done something moronic

    Bullshit.
Sorry Katman, but it's never as black and white as that. Yes people who ride motorcycles like assholes will leave a bad impression - yet there are plenty of asshole cage drivers out there and I don't try and take off the wing mirrors of each that I meet.

In a similar fashion it is only the most close minded of car drivers who will decide that all motorcyclists are the same and each deserves to be run off the road.

It sounds like you'd love to hijack this horrible experience for the good of your own campaign but please, don't. That's like saying that violent video games make kids take guns to a mall and shoot people. At the end of the day the guy in the car was a nutcase - and you can't change that.

    that's all.

They don't even need a cage now. Last week I had a nutter on foot run at me and try to push me off in a 50km zone.

I almost stopped to show him how hard the armor is on my gloves.

Shoulda done it, that armour is pretty hard

There are always some nutters, its best to ride with your eyes wide open. It may sound stupid, but what i've found helps alot, if someone is behind you, glance at your mirror and take a look at the driver. You will be suprised how often you can avoid stupidity like dumb arse road rage drivers just by looking at them.

For example: going into work to pick something up this evening,

Look in wing mirror, see blonde lass in a familia driving pretty close, move aside at the lights and let her pull up beside, just wanted to look at the bike, sweet, not a problem (made me blush though )

On the way back, look in wing mirror, angry dude, got the hard death stare going and following a bit close... Fuck this, time for a tiki tour, pull of on a side street, take a left and a left and then back onto remuera road.

No shame in running i reckon.
