I went for a ride today :-) from remuera, to piha and back. Started raining when i was on scenic drive, no matter, took it easy and everything went fine.

Pulling into my road, lean in, front hits some diesel on the ground, front slips out, i get thrown onto the road, hurt my knees and my hand, other than that all good... fucking diesel bullshit crap arse fuck

Now the GN needs its tank repaired, some new handle bars and a new indicator... FUCK ARSE BALLS

so sorry to hear that man. Hate the damn diesel treat it like a kriptonite. There was some on Gilies on-ramp to the motorway too. Thing to watch out for. Hope you are ok. For the bike there is parts for you there arent that many parts (what my dad sais). Be careful. Merry christmass, and hopefully happier New Year.

Sucks arse eh man...but hell you're alive and not damaged so all good.
Have binned both a ZX10 and Superduke this year on diesel at "low" speeds...in the dry so don't feel that you're alone
Try and find something to learn from it(ie: detection etc) and move on

I feel for ya bud, had a similar experience yesterday only I hit a thin strip of metal/gravel/chip and down I went. Gotta look at it this way, at least you're not spending christmas in hospital, (neither am I) bike can be fixed or replaced, whole lot harder with human beings.

Hmm, I wonder if the addition of a flapper valve in the neck of the filler on all diesel vehicles would stop most of these problems. Even if its not possible to retro fit, make it a requirement on all new/newly imported ones.

Dude that sucks ass big time, I have never had to deal with diesel (that i can remember) and hope to god i never do lol, mind you i seem to be very lucky on bikes, no luck with winning anything but lucky when it comes to bikes

It is possible that luck may be a rather fragile thing.

Any sharp(ish) corner or roundabout near a gas station with a diesel pump must be treated as having the same friction coefficient as wet glass.

In town in the rain we should be looking for diesel on the road, as well as sniffing the air for it, and despite all this, it is still too easy to come unstuck on a diesel spill.
