    Failing to stop charge (idiot!)

howdy,im just geting this of my chest....
i made a stupid decision to make a half hearted attemt to get away from the police yesterday i prety much gave up as soon as i started and got arrested,i must say the cops involved were the best i could hav got.ive never run before and never will again.
the reason...im on my learners(6yrs running) riding a thou.instead of just a 400 dollar ticket i now have to go to court for failing to stop and careless use of a motor vehical.this is a very light charge considering,im hoping i can use my diversion but not counting on it.if i dont lose my licence im going to finish it and get to my full asap.thanx for listing lol
    still feel stupid :slap:

Hmmm...don't think diversion applies to traffic offences.
Depends on the prosecuting officer's zealousness?? Careless Use - 1st offence. But coupled with the Failing to Stop and outside licence class.
Don't hold your breath, but you might get lucky and keep that licence.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Appreciate your candour, but it never ceases to amaze me the number of people who just continue to ride on their learner's. Six years? Riding a thou? Why, oh why, don't people just get their full licence?

Just think. Six years of wondering when you'll get done. The stress each time you ride and see a cop following you or come across a checkpoint. Riding with no insurance. Is it worth it? You probably wonder about now...

respect for posting and risking even MORE embarrassment ....

................... but most of the peops that are gonna give you grief about it on here will have done either it or something similar themselves at one time or another ........

Everyone makes mistakes, good on you for accepting responsibility.
What did you do to incur the careless charge?

I guess there's hope for you yet. As Blue Velvet says, many just can't seem to learn. We all make mistakes, but admitting them and learning from them makes a better person.

Some learn the easy way, some learn the hard way. I think my son is beginning to realize his old man may just know a little bit about some things...

I know a good reasonably priced lawyer if you are looking for one.
He came recommended from another KBer and has represented a few of us from time to time.
