I was shocked (!) to find out what piss-poor mileage my bike was getting. Maybe I measured stuff worngA. Or calculated the odometer correction due to the speedo corrector the worngA way round.

Still, even with those potential errors, it's about 30% more economical than the FahrtSturm. I suspect if I had it tuned (valve clearances, SV synch), removed the PCII, and reconnected the O2 sensors, the mileage might improve dramatically, perhaps in direct and inverse proportion to the smileage.

K7 GSXR 1000 gives me about 17km per L
'07 FLSTSC was about 20km per L
'01 RSV Mille 18km per L

My sports bikes can be much better and a little worse depending on speed

I am an old fart, and km/l are not that hard, really.

Personally, I don't think l/100 km are all that hard, either, but I know I'm in the minority on that.

I wondered why those old farts always took their Morris Oxfords and Triumph Speed Twins to the pump around the back of the local Shell.

Yes, I didn't specify did I. I usually just ignore silly American conventions - like putting dates arse about face, so I use imperial gallons, not US gallons.

Of course one could argue why not just use litres?
Well
1) There is no standardisation of how to express the result.
2) My frame of refrence.

I've calculated both the scooter and Suzuki A100 bike.

SJ50: This was on the open road at 60k
1.24L burned in 32km.
60mpg
25.8 km per litre
8.4c per kilometre (@2.19 a litre)
3.87L per 100km

A100: This was mainly stop-start around town, with one short blat at 90.
2.2L per 54km
57mpg
24.5 km per litre
8.9 cents per km
4.07L per 100km

So the scooter comes out minutely better in this test. With that said, I know what I'd rather be riding

If the A100 was calculated on the open road (cruising at 80k), I reckon it'd be a few MPG better than the SJ50. I plan to ave another test soon.

Yeah...

I get 250kms from my 15.3l of 2 stroke (300ml oil, 15l petrol)

I think thats about 6l/100km or 17km/l but maths ain't something I care for so if I'm wrong I'm wrong. I must admit I don't ride the bike with economy in mind!!!
