    The challenge:
Bike must cost < or = $1000 have a current warrant and reg (or be completely unsuitable to the journey at hand).
The bike must have less than 200cc or a flat out top speed of less than 120.
The bike must not be capable of cruising at 100.

my pocket rocket will do 40kph on level road, but no way am i getting that road legal and no way will it even last as long as orewa

and the pocket rocket will struggle to hit 50kph, probably need lights etc to get a rego, and will rattle to pieces, seize, or simply throw a tantrum and cease to run at the worst possible time (at which point the pullstart will snap)

plus i'd need to bring alot of premix

The problem I see with this is that the terms of engagement would allow some bikes to enter for which it would be no challenge at all

An older scruffy RG150. Or something like a YCS Yamaha (180/200 cc two stroke). Or even an X5 Suzuki. Just a quick blast up and back. A CB200 would be slower but still a comfortable cruise.

In the spirit of the thing an AX100 would be the obvious choice .

I could probably borrow me mate's Peugeot Snake 50cc scooter for the mission.

I'd be dead keen on doing a run to the Cape and back on that if there was at least one other person on a Mighty 50 of some sort to accompany me.

    Who's game?

Edit: I'm pretty sure the Spirit of the Thing requires a route up SH16 and SH12 and back down SH10.

Indeed, My old a100 / cb100 would be the bees knees for the intent.

At present I am thinking the PGO, but would rather try on something like an old a100.

The spirit of the thing is to have an adventure. Stop of at places where other kb'ers are meant to be and possibly raise some money for a charity and for the site.

    But mostly the adventure.

If I take a couple of HT leads off that should drop the CC's down a bit?

    Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too specific.
Will nut the finer points out when we have confirmation of proof of concept.

I.E this is still a request for expression of interest.

A lot of work will need to go in to this. Too much to do with out enough interest.
