As much as riding up to auckland and then to reianga and back sound like alot of fun and an awesome challenge I think, yes a local version would probably be more realistic to start with.

Heinz Varieties
wait, so i could just pay $70 and have a legal pocket rocket (under 50cc and 2.2KW) without any lights whatsoever?
why don't we all meet in the middle? like a mission to the ruapehu ski-field carparks?
sounds like a mint idea to me as i doubt a pocket rocket would handle the beach/mud very well
the requirement is road legal.
at this stage still just looking at numbers and its looking good to be a goer'
hey RM just drop the gearing a bit that will make it slower![]()
I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.
Well, they are supposed to be of WoF standard. And WoF or no WoF you must have lights at night. So a cop would certainly pull you up. But there are vintage bikes that have a WoF and no lights (never had them, being old)
You can register it OK, there's no compliance on a moped. And you don't need a WoF.
But- a cop can order it off the road as unsafe. And doubtless would. And insurance would be right out.

Ok, so the basics, we have enough attendance.
Who do we want to try and raise some money for?
I would prefer it was an obscure charity. It would be a pitiful amount for say Red Cross but would mean a lot to a smaller charity.
When is good for every one?
Do some of you need time to locate and prep a bike?
Do we have any volunteers to provide sweep, medical or mechanical assistance?
Do we have any volunteers to help with the organising?
Do we have any suggestions for activities along the way?
Do we have any bike related donations to give away as prizes?
Do we have any recommendations about a motor camp to stay at, preferably with cabins or caravans or even an old barn or hanger at around the 3/4 mark? (Planning to go up Friday stay the night somewhere and then "summit" on Saturday return to site, have a good time and then head back Sunday)
Any other miscilaneous business?
I'll escort you guys lol
can I? lol
Btw, my accomodation up in Kaitaia was $25 dollars a night! Inclu free BBQ grill hire etc!FUCK YEAH
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I can do sweep and got my basic first aid cert.Do we have any volunteers to provide sweep, medical or mechanical assistance?

"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."
Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
How about a tent camp beside the light house?
P.S. Sorry, I can't afford another bike but I really want to participate this event. I'll ride my FXR (not cheating am I?)
I'll be just a photographer through out the trip![]()
