Passed my full - no holding me back!

Wahoo, I finally got my full just under a year of starting to ride. Thank goodness as my big baby's call was getting louder and louder (had a SV650 in the garage since December).

I had been good and only riden her a handfull of times but it was becoming harder to resist her.

Anyway the test itself was great, I had this lovely lady (and we ended up nattering for a good 15 min post test about all kinds of stuff) and she really relaxed me. Which was good as I was stressing about it.

The dd course while absouletly crap did in a way prepare me for the test (didn't improve my skills any) although the practical component with Andrew really reduced my riding confidence down to zero and I came away from it thinking there is no way I should be able to pass the test.

I had a bit of drama with the eye test (apparently there is a third column when you read the letters out) and that stressed me out a bit. But got there in the end and now waiting for the little bit of plastic to arrive in the post.

One of the good things about my test was as they didn't have the mic I didn't have to do the running commentary. So I guess my advice to others would be go for the smaller testing stations where you may get around this stupid bit of the test.

A big thanks to Nasty and Grub who took me on my first legal ride. It was fun and so much nicer to be able to keep up with you guys!!!!

I know what you're saynig. I had my 600 for 4 months before I had my full. It did help that it was locked away in a shed 2 hours away from where I was. In saying that I did make a couple of trips just to go ride her.

    Congrats!!

    Congratulations!

Funny you say that about the eye test! I had the same sort of issues with it, so I booked an eye test with my optometrist. Interestingly, he said that the optometrists association recommended against the type of machine they use for driver testing and that the problem was not with my eyes but with their machine. So don't freak out thinking your eyes are deteriorating or anything! My optometrist, after doing a full eye test for me, said my eyes hadn't changed in 10 years and my contacts were in good condition for their age, so I felt that I had just wasted $60 on the eye exam!

Anyhow, it's awesome that you passed and have fun on your new set of wheels!

Well it's hard to say boo when you're having all the air squeezed out of you.

Congrats on the full - a very liberating feeling!
