This 85 points the friendly nice police officer gave you on the day.

I understood that when you are gifted multiple juicy ticket suprises at a single time, only the offence with the highest points has those points recorded.

    You might only have 50!!

Report him to the green party. They will have him up for wasting resources and creating unnecessary waste.

I wonder if that helps his quota? (Oops, "there is no quota"...)

Bugger ! They've struck again. The bastards!

    When did that happen.

It's a sad state of affairs, you ride a nice bit of road, think, 'Must come back here some time soon' and as soon as y' back's turned the bastards rush in and seal it.

    Nonsense.

The Highway Patrol have the same maps as we do; I'm quite sure that they allocate their limited resources in full knowledge of what roads are out there.

Every hour of vehicle patrol time, I suspect, must be accounted for to someone, and I imagine that there'd be hell to pay if those expensive breathed-upon pursuit wagons were seen to be burning gas for no reason cruising around the deserted back-of-beyond twisties.

I'm also quite sure that the vast majority of police officers on traffic duty would privately admit that they don't give a flying fuck about motorcyclists riding safely at speeds of their own choosing on well-surfaced, deserted back roads that are not part of the main highway network.

Time and place, gentlemen, time and place.

... and a whole new generation of motorcyclists start getting their jollies with their knee down leaving black stripes out of the same corners you used to rooster-tail your way through with boots dragging furrows in the loose metal.

Time and Progress march on, old bean. Nowt to do but go with the flow.

it's not a highway down there, so highway patrol won't go there.

I think one would have to be very unfortunate to meet a plod on such roads. Assuming that local reidents do not become annoyed at MotoGP events on their local roads , and complain to TPTB.

The danger of Officer Bumblebee also choosing that little used road to get from wherever to wherever else can never be totally discounted.

But then, neither can the risk of being hit by a stray meteorite. Some risks must be accepted as part of life.
