Good one. far be it for me to provide any advice (as a GC newbie in 07) however the good news is that there are lots of people happy to help you out.

The ability / will to ride for 20+ hours thru' (mostly) the night and in shit weather is important. It is a great experience and well worth giving it a go

You need to register soon tho' as slots are filling up for '08
    Next event...

Well, I dunno. Cos you can't ride north, on account of , once we get both you crazies out of the North island we're going to seal the borders. And south ,the going gets pretty tough only a Spragthorp can handle it. So unless you just ride round in circles, it pretty limited.

He may take his while getting here -- I suspect he's out clocking up even more ludicrous mileage on his brand new Hornet.

I dunno, I think all peeps would ride as much as I do if they had the opportunity and inclination to do so! Right?

I've answered enuff threads to do with milage yada yada yada!

Suffice to say, I gone through 3 sets of Diablos ( 20 000km life out of each on my little ol'hornet) ... 85000km in my first year as a noob biker (but it seems with a Big Ol'Hornet, I yam now a fully bona fide big bike biker card carrier!)

But to tell the truth, I am losing track of the kms I am pootling! I guess I should go out to Daisy and little ol'hornet and Pippi and add up the milages I done on them combined by now! Nah ... screw that, I be an Englisk treacher and not a Mathemagic one!

Some clever person with more time on their hands worked out I doing something like 260km a day or summit like that ...

In my first 10 years of riding I averaged about 30,000k annually (no cage back then). After a 13year gap I bought the GN and I've done over 20,000k on it in the last 18 months.

No matter what or how many vehicles I own I seem to do about 30,000k annually combined.

    In 1980 i got a CB400/4 with 26000 km on the clock.
When i finally retired it after several engine rebuilds and heaps of race wins and track time the speedo showed over 200,000 km and that was in 1998/99 then i got my CBX750 f2 with 3 km on the clock , i sold that with 85000 k just over 3 yrs later. i loved that bike .

I was doing Wgtn to Hamilton return on the 400 every weekend when the G/F moved at one stage for around about 7 months so i got used to SH 1 lol.
