    Bingo.

The cost of the plate is about $28, the rest of the cost is purchasing the right to "own" that particular combination of numbers/letters etc. for whatever use you want it for, be it car, bike, etc.

Its funny browsing through some of the plates for sale and the amazing amounts some people are asking for plates that I cant really imagine people wanting to buy.

My Mum got one for Dad when they first came out, think it was $150 way back then.

Dad's no longer with us so it's sitting gathering dust.

Anyone interested in the plate BRYAN let me know.

$750 is a bloody ridiculous price and it's getting harder and harder to get a combination that resembles what you want.

When I was a younger, fitter self and somewhat cocky I got the plate KICBOX.

I took it off when I stopped fighting.

Happy to pass it on if someone wants to buy it.

Pretty simple - you are not allowed to.

All the homemade ones are subject to a (from memory $250) fine.

Personalised plates? Gahh! They should be banned.

The purpose of a registration plate should be to clearly and unambiguously identify a motor vehicle. Personalised plates significantly compromise that task.

They also demonstrate the ineptitude of many people in applying rudimentary naming conventions. I suspect that folks who name their children "Cleeshaye" or "Shithead" (google these if you don't believe me) also have an attraction to vanity plates. And vice versa.

It's a tax on people who are silly enough to pay. So don't.

On second thoughts, please do: I want the Government to save up enough money for my knee replacement in a decade or 2.

I'd expect you to be happy about that, as you are a seller, not a buyer.

Hm. I read that as CHRYSALIS and assumed you no longer needed it now that you have emerged as a beautiful butterfly. Aw, gee, shucks.

To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
