    You know of the old actors superstition about not being able to say MacBeth, so they refer to it as the scottish play.

    Well during the height of the scottish thread it was having fall out effects and spilling over into other threads. Around that time JR or Hitcher started calling it that. It was universially adopted from there.

    There maybe a bit more to why they started calling it that, but I either don't recall or never knew.
