I mostly just get old farts saying `Oh, nice Superdream!', whereabouts I get shitty and snarkily tell them it is not one of those!
Several girls at uni have called my bike `gorgeous' and `cute'. I'd be happy if they were talking about my arse or smile, but when a girl says that about your motorcycle, one's thoughts turn to matte black paint and straight-through silencers.
Best attention getters / conversation starters are classic styled Harleys and Triumphs.
People wind their windows down to talk/ask about the bike at traffic lights occasionally.
I have lost count of the stunned looks and raised-eyebrow questions I have got. I have people get off harleys and come over and ask WTF sort of bike is THAT?!?.. and watched them stand and stare and ask questions for some minutes while I refuel. Strangely, they looked sort of perplexed when they rode away - maybe they weren't having a nice day? I was..
I think its the curiosity value - no one has really seen a GT650R before. There is one thing about the hyo's and that is they are widely TALKED about (one way or the other) so when theres one to be seen in the flesh, even seasoned bikers will gather around and evaluate it. ALL bikers IRL ask "whats it like?". GT250R riders sit on it and marvel its just like their 250. NO PERSON has ever dissed it in real life, only on this forum is it widely despised.
So in answer to your question, in public the hyo is widely waved at, admired, and generally gets me lots of love. In almost any forum on the Internet, it is widely and rudely despised - I wonder if would have bought it, or got into biking at all if I had known.

"I am a licenced motorcycle instructor, I agree with dangerousbastard, no point in repeating what he said."
"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
"Wow, Great advise there DB."
WTB: Hyosung bikes or going or not.
I sometimes get people coming up to me and reminiscing about the days of old, when they owned a cb400. I had a chat with a man in his eighties about my bike, he told me he got himself a gn250 on his 81st birthday.
My exhaust gets plenty of attention, sets off the odd car alarm.
The wife talked me into Golding ownership some years back, I only went in the shop for some gloves damn it.
I ain't knocking the bike here, what it does it does very well but it was short lived, I just couldn't live with the attention, good and bad. A non bikers favourite yet seemingly hated by many bikers. I used to roll up into a car park and park as far away from everyone else as I could, always drew a crowd but I felt real uncomfortable with that, grannies and kids all over it and always the same question ( how much)
Conversely, I was running one of the first ZZR 1100s at the same time and this was totally shunned by Joe public but always drew a small crowd of bikers and always the same question (how fast).
I prolly got the best bike I've ever owned now and it don't get so much as a second glance but that's OK by me.![]()
Oh bugger
I used to get alot of attention about my Hyosung (GV250), dont get as much now. Most kids ask if its a Harley, or just tell their parents "Look dad theres a Harley!"
It is kinda cool getting some attention, But on the open road trying to pass, looks pretty silly.
When its all shiny and all the chrome is reflecting on a sunny day i have to admit, it is a nice looking bike![]()
