Who was the squibby I saw stuck on the Auckland Harbour Bridge on Saturday afternoon?
Despite all the warnings, some bright spark decided that their bike could certainly cross the bridge in all that wind.
WRONG!
When I drove past in the cage, there he/she was, half way down the north side of the bridge, stopped in the gap between the clip-ons and the original lanes, fighting to keep the bike upright in the wind while stationary, let alone while moving. I wonder how long they spent there waiting for the wind to drop........?
Perhaps the warnings DO mean something after all.......at least they were still in one piece and might think twice next time there is a wind warning for the bridge.......![]()
