you're just 1 of 3 that i found without too much trouble, but if it's important to you - yes - it's all about you.

So what's your point here? Are you personally pissed of that we have 3 threads on the 1st page of the forum talking about how riders can be dickheads?

Yeah, it totally fucks with his head... because cages are supposedly the cause of the majority of motorcycle accidents and our shit doesn't stink - in the bike propaganda world.

    Know what you mean.

lately seems every other pos is someone having a wee tanty about a biker committing some grave and unforgivable sin, like roasting babies, microwaving kittens, riding without pants, overtaking, riding on the footpath and such like.

I suspect that some of the unhappiness is riders who have much experience in cars but not much on bikes.

Things that an experienced rider on a fast bike can do seem quite alarming to someone who measures such things in car terms.

Overtaking on the outside in a corner for instance. Can't say it's something that happens that frquently but when it does it's not a big deal. Just hold your line and let the outside guy sort himself out. Front bike owns the road. Like as not he'll get past. If not, he'll brake and tuick in behind. And 20 cm is quite a lot of space , really .Indeed I must confess to having done it myself on very odd occasions - in expiation , it was on a 250 when you really want to maintain corner speed and it can be quite difficult following a slower rider.

Dangerous is one thing . "He scared me " is another. Which isn't to say that dangerous by bikers doesn't happen, and should be firmly reproved when it does.

And that's another reason for L plates. I would tear an experienced rider who did that to a L plater a new one. Once the L is off, well I guess you're expected to harden up a bit.

One of the things my dad taught me and I have repeated here in a few different threads, some times driving and riding defensivly you have to think for other road useres, its no good Being DEAD right, or worse a Vegtable but you were in the right.
One of the best things we can learn to be better drivers / riders is Hazzard identification, you need to figure out your own scale, mine is 1 to 20, at 20 there is little chance of harm to me, at about 5 to 1 on my scale this is where significant harm may come to me if I do not take evasive action imediatly, this is the my light is green but i can see there is a Muppet that is going to run the red light. or the clown that is passing the B train with no passing room, in both cases I can stan my ground and get caught up and hurt in their accident, or I can do my best to aviod the situation.

Ok ill illustrate the setuation better. I was going 150 + in that corner, and I didn't see the other bike untill the last moment.

I like reading about these nutters on bikes that piss people off.
For the humor of the posts sometimes.
For the reminder that I need to watch out for bikes as well as cages when out riding.
OK so the rider/driver in question may never read the thread, but we do, and it might make us safer on the road on our bikes as well as in our cages.

    Two things can go wrong...

1; Bike mirrors give poor visibility for something up close, and the speed some riders can close up on means the slower bike probably doesn't know he/she is about to be passed...

2; The road is different to a race track. Road riders do not necessarily hold "a line" because they are travelling at a much slower pace and may actually change lines at any moment, like moving to another part within their lane for a better entry into a corner. This is a big difference to a racer on a track who will be pretty much holding a predictable line.

This means to be safe it pays to overtake completely in the other lane - not try to push through beside them in their lane that they have every right to use every part of as they see fit to get through a corner and avoid any bumps etc. Remember they probably haven't seen you coming anyhow.

Of course overtaking in the other lane only limits overtaking in corners where there is adequate visibility ahead. (and allow for the possibility of a fast travelling bike coming the other way) Otherwise wait for a straight.

By the way, a fair quastion to you, do you happen to own a red\dark grey Honda CBR 600 RR 07-08 model?
