Sorry. I just don't like low-born scum like you reflecting on proper motorcyclists like myself. Next time, if you want to share the same piece of road as me, could you at least clean your jacket and bike?

Sheesh, some people are hard to please. Now, if it had been me that the BMW bikiecop spotted doing 140 on one wheel, with worn out tyres, and just wagged an admonitory finger at, I'd have been well pleased, not calling him a turd brain.

Well I was slack today and didn't go for a ride at all. I wanted to be home for the advertised 2.00PM start of the MotoGP... mumble mumble

Never mind, I've got the next three weeks off work!!!

Bye bye the mundane. Hello Mr Rossi, Mr Davizioso, Mr Pedrosa et al

I could say something rude to all of you who enjoyed the nice weather, but I won't. Good for you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I still haven't broken my "non-biking days" run. It's now at ...lesseeee.... hmmmm...
    46? 47 days?
Summat like that. Scarily, I'm actually almost getting used to it and settling in, and harbouring notions like, "Mebbe I don't actually need a bike...."

    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

It sounds like too many days without riding drives people insane. Don't need a bike - pfffft!

It was a great day for a ride! I had a ball caning it through some of the Taranaki and Waikato back roads (sealed and otherwise) and finally joined SH1 at at Rangiruru.
It wasn't so great for the Harley rider lying face down in the southbound fast lane just north of Mercer at the Pioneer Rd (I think) intersection. I stopped to see if there was anything I could do as, while I didn't see it happen, he must have gone down only seconds before I got there. What I saw was surprisingly reassuring (and the only reason I am posting this) - Joe Public seemed to have it pretty much in hand.
A woman was directing traffic around the accident site. Some guy was on his cell phone calling an ambulance and being very clear and concise as to the location. Two people were attending to the rider who was moving but obviously in some distress. Nobody was trying to move him and nobody was trying to take his helmet off. The next car to arrive unloaded a lady in a St Johns ambo uniform.
Go Joe Public!! Maybe common sense and a bit of first aid training is more widespread than we thought.
There was nothing constructive I could add and so I moved on.
I don't know what caused this. It is a straight bit of 4 laner. I suspect - repeat suspect - that he may have been pushed into the median strip by someone changing lanes on him. Could be something else entirely.

Piss poor end to the day. Hope he makes it OK.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
