    My rg150 keeps dying??

My rg150 keeps dying randomly. it worked when i brought it, then i learnt to ride it around block for 5-10min rides. then i was ready to go out for 1st bigger ride and cud kick start it but neutral light wasnt working same wit rev meter. then after a hour ride it was working again. then just now took it out again 1 day later and was sweet then after 20min i went to a intercetion and it was idling and dyed. Had to push start it and had same problem no head lights, rev meter wasnt working ( keept goin from 2thousand revs to 0 when reved ) .

Is it the battery or what i just wana get it fixed so i can learn to ride and not worry bout it dying...

Sounds to me like dodgy electrics, get a shop to check your charging system.

Been through similar with my rg150. Nuetral light disappearing completely, then coming back off and on but faintly. Bike cutting out and coasting to a stop (yes coasting not seizing) one minute it didn't wanna start then the next thing you know it would happily start and run just fine. Headlight playing up (flickering mind you) Battery needing to be charged regularly. Sometimes the bike would run fine for 10 minutes then start throwing its spasm and dying on the side of the road. Other times I could manage a 3 hour trip without it playing up until I was almost home again.

    Notice any umm.. "surging?"

    Check your wiring.

yep, sounds like a typical case of "twostroke-itis"

good luck and be sure to post up what the source of the problem is when/if you find it so we can be more helpful for the next rg150 owner

Do what katman says. He works on this stuff for a living.

    Steve

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Yeah, like DB and KatMan said.

But, I'd also have an intermediate step - I'd find a high quality trickle charger and charge the battery for a goodly amount of time. I'd ensure that the terminals which bolt to the battery are clean, and that the connections are good. I'd also put a meter across the battery to see if your charging system is okay - you'd expect to see the voltage jump from standstill, to when you have finished starting it. Pretty easy stuff to isolate the fault. It's either the battery, the charging system, or something between. Loose wires, poor connectors, dirty terminals, etc. If everything is dying, then it'll be something obvious when you look for it.

I don't do this stuff for a living, but I used to do a lot of 12v auto sparky work in the past.

If you're really a clutz, and your friends tell stories of your stupidity around the bbq, or you regularly set fire to stuff without being sure why, send it to KatMan or your city's equivalent of KatMan.
I just realised that there is no equivalent of KatMan, he's one of a kind and special.

It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Ah. Two smokers. It's what they do, is why we luvs them

My RZ350 was doing that . I dismantled the carbs 96 times and it made no difference. Then, on the 97th it all came right. Your problem is something completely different. Two smokers. Is why we luvs them
