    That little voice within

The little voice within was twice on my side yesterday.......

Took my first pootle through Scotsman's Valley Road.....which turns into Bell Road at the Eastern end. Bell road is bloody narrow in places. As I approached a narrow right hander with no exit visible, the little voice piped up and said "narrow here, can't see through the corner - watchit!" So I backed off and just as well.....As I came through the corner, there approaching from the opposite direction was a big fat Merc, straddling the centre line (the centre line was under the centre of the car)......if I had been fanging it I would have had trouble avoiding him...so one up to the little voice.
Later, returning towards Hammertown on Holland Road (dead straight and very boring, (of course I wasn't speeding!!!!) I approached the intersection with SH1B, which is stop signed....again the little voice piped up......"Could be a loony coming through that stop sign without stopping....watchit!" So again I backed off and sure enough, just as I approach the intersection a driver of the female species comes barrelling through the stop sign.....she saw me (amazingly enough, the bike was visible for once!) and slammed on the brakes, stopping with half of my lane occupied by her car.......I very politely pointed the phalanges at her and proceeded through.......TWO up to the little voice....

Anyone else have one of these little voices? Very useful......

That they are. Depending on what they are telling you, of course...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

The little voice in my head usually screams something like "Just fucking cane it, you fat nana!"

    Yes.
    And I listen to them.
    Now....

A few years ago, I was on my way to work, and came up behind a slow-moving car, looked like it had just pulled ou from the curb. The windows were covered in dew, and "the little voice" said, "Better tootle him melodiously, in case he hasn't seen you."
Moments laters, he pulled into the curb.
"Oh - he has seen me." So, instead of tootling him, I accelerated past.
    And he U-turned into me.
He was just performing his usual morning ritual on auto-pilot, which included driving up the road 50m or so, then cracking a u-turn.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

My doctor says they will go away if i take my meds ! But then everything is gone !

I just do as they say now !

Anyone want to come have a drink with me ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Some clueless broad shot through an intersection when it was my green light. I was at the front of the queue and found myself dropping anchor like never before. To my surprise, instead of just gassing it out, she did the same. If I wasn't vigilant with the brakes, I'd have gone over her bonnet for sure.

im still learning to listen to mine. though i have started second guessing it and ending up quite paranoid instead! makes the morning ride so much more terrifying.
