    Were you in disguise?

Went for a pootle over the tuks today, martinborough then gladstone and finally masterton, those back roads are a great place for a noob such as myself to get a bit of confidence and really enjoy those gentle sweeping corners. I'd love to do the social thing a bit but i must admit the big boys are a bit intimidating... Where are all the noobs hanging out? i did'nt notice any "L" plates and saw only one other 250, anyone keen to form a L plate posse to hit the wai next sunday?

yeah, I' planning on getting one, but them bolting it on, then snapping it off so it looks like I put one on in case I get pulled over.

So to answer, us 250 people are in semi disguise.

Damn, I'd like to go with you guys again next sunday, but I have my kids that weekend (which is nice... but means little riding!) That sounds like a really good route to take though... hope the weather is good for it (like yesterday) - perfect!

Don't be intimidated they are the same as everyone else ... they probably rode 250s themselves once.

BTW: Next Sunday is the Cliffhanger speed events in Featherston ... will be a great place to meet other riders.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Pride dosn't get in my way, but the fear of a $400 fine does...I wear my L plate, always have. I have never seen another on a bike either except once when I was in the cage.

Would love to go for a ride but to be honest that ride sounds too long and my bike is already causing me some back pain after 20 minutes!

you should sell it mate and get a bike thats doesnt cause you pain - no point to ride a bike that makes you sore. isnt the gv250 an upright seating postion anyway? i'd reconend a vtr250 as a good comfortable bike - but with comfort its a personal thing so try a few out.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

On reflection it probably is a little ambitious, was a bit keen yesterday as we had just come back from a great ride and i just wanted to keep going... We could all look out for each other in featherston next sunday and make decisions from there. I wear my L plate cause i like to be insured! pretty sure the insurance would be void if your not riding plated up (if you should be.. ) as for the comfort factor hubbies been riding the vl250 for a while (has a dodgy back) and reckons its v.comfy
