I try and use the Pack and Slave petrol forecourt purely so i don't have to remove my helmet, I don't get to worried about the price when it is something i do for enjoyment.
Filled with Force 10 at Gull this morning. Paid 1.49.9c/l.....

Yep ditto to all that...however I think it is a tad pricier at Tairua...
Personally I don't give rats what the price at the pump is between the different octanes. The bike gets the HIGHEST octane possible no matter what...
The car? well sorry Subby but you're on the cheap stuff LOL.

If your bike will run 91, you get more power from it anyway.
Most modern bikes don't have knock sensors, and don't have particularly good airflow sensors either, but that's another story. "Snow White and the Seven Swarfs", I think.) I think it's because they rev too high, so the knock sensor would struggle.

i noticed my bike was bit gutless and also drank more when i ran bp 98 ulimte at a bp which only solt 98 and not 95/96 rip of bastards.
From memory my manual says it will run ok but may void warranty over 5% (Gull has 10%). I called Bluewing and the confirmed that is the case. They did say Honda will probably change their mind once all fuel has an ethanol component.
Some Mobil's seem to be ok. Others aren't. I can't be bothered working out which
Yep, funny how people assume more octane is more power.
Interesting. I guess my bike is special![]()
Umm... you did read my signature lines, right?
I generally either make stuff up, or extrapolate (wildly) from the few facts I do have. I have no idea how many injected bikes have or don't have knock sensors.
I know that despite have 23,762 sensors, my EFI bike doesn't have a knock sensor or airflow sensor, but maybe that's because it's a V4, and that fucks things up.
I'll extrapolate from that....hmmm... it's a V4, so a knock sensor would get confused and take the normal V4 'character' as knocking.
Ack Shirley, it was knocking sometimes when hot, until I disabled the oxygen sensors and dialled in some more fuel at low revs.
