To the original poster - Everytime I've come up to a checkpoint on the bike they just wave me through. One beer wouldn't put you over the limit anyway I shouldn't think!

Say whatever you like to him. He's going to ask you to talk to the box, and then he's going to let you go, or not. What you did isn't against the law, but its a pretty obvious try to evade them, and they are going to chase you.

They set up right next to my driveway once, and I took great delight in driving right up to them and swinging in my driveway. It was funny as. Teh occifer wandered onto my property and asked politely if I would oblige him with a test (quite likely he wasn't entitled to unless I agreed) so I talk to the box and he smiles and wanders off.

Uh yeah thats Obstructing an Officer I think. Cmon you have nothing to gain doing that - it might be your daughter or girlfriend that some pisshead crashes into.

Ya know...if anyone posed a threat to the general public it was he, not I.
He must have been hittin' 90kmh down a narrow suburban street (with little kiddies playing on the grass verge) to CATCH UP with me, the innocent motorcyclist riding peacefully at 52kmh down the street.
    My CRIME?????

    doing a u-turn....WHOOOOAHHHHHHH!!!!!
yes folks, a motorcyclist turned.....and went back the way he was heading
Upshot was..he told me not to drink any more grog tonight, because the machine indicated I was a NAUGHTY boy lol! PML hahhhahahahah!!
    FAILED YOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

yep, thats me Scumdog, a failed youth, OMG how will I ever live that judgement down? huh??
so you and your cronies should go away and think about that, he put innocent childrens lives in danger because he thought(assumed) I was over the legal limit of alcomohol per blood unit.
Assumption is the mother of all ?????????? what??????????

Too true, I only realized this when someone just before brought it up.
    Take care, Mr. Steve.

So what? The drunk driver that does a U-turn and they don't bother catching up with drives away, crashing into a car killing a family of four. Gotta draw the line somewhere don't they? They're just doing their job, and catching drunk-drivers is a part of their job which earns their full respect from me.

The best pissheads at most checkpoints are those that u-turn or pull over the avoid the line.

The cop would be letting us all down if he didn't chase the ones who tried to get away. I'd rather pay the cop to chase pissheads OR ANYONE SUSPECTED OF IT, than most other stuff.

Often thought I should pull a u-turn just for the giggles of it... well... IIII would find it funny

In reality, I just continue travelling along, slow down, lift visor. Only been stopped twice (at the same checkpoint, one each way). First asked me to pull over, I took off helmet etc, and he tested me. Second was game on the offer to squeeze it up the front of the helmet Sure enough, I wondered if the devices do show zero, and they do.

A couple of days later, I realised both wof and rego were out by months

Shitting myself that a cop'd pull over in a sneaky mufti with a frown on his face

    that aint cool man.

Why the hell would you help drink drivers get away from the police ? They are the ones that crash into us head on and we die. If I see you do I'll make sure I tell them.

There should be alcohol check on every corner of every neighbourhood. Wether you are drunk on a bike or a car , if you are over the limit you should be f*%$#d in the ass by the cops for risking other peoples lives.

Yes indeed . There can not be too many booze stop points. I maintain that every HP officer, and every GP officer who can be spared from attending domestics should be assigned to stopping people to test for DIC.

Especially at weekends, during the day. That's the most important time. Oh , and bikey cops are the most indispensible of all at the booze points.
