Hi if you after a bit of security in regaurd to someone nicking you xr when I had my one I just drilled a hole in the air box and fitted a push in switch from dick smiths which was out of sight worked so well it would fool me sometimes then a padlock on the back disc I always found what do you do with your gear more of a problem??? I think adventure rides just have to figure everyones going to be friendly and honest and till to date I have never had a problem. I miss my xr600
Just some pics of XR Johnny's new "adv" bike, bought and brought from Ak, on Saturday.
Acerbis 24.5L tank ordered yesterday ! (only 12km per Litre on trip !)
Note adv wheels in pic...
Let the farkling begin !!!
Oh dear. That is an extremely nice example
Well done Johnny, that looks like Colmans on K Rd
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time
was that the one on trademe - wondered why the ad expired early? i had my eye on those motard wheels.....
Yeah look nice those wheels - should be able to put my new motard wheels on my XR600 on the weekend after a slight hitch last weekend (had to take front one to engineers to get bored out a little). Now all good to go - can't wait to get the mean machine going.
Boring out the 600 already?
That didn't take long
Well this is a 650 thread after all...
Anybody want to buy some wheels? I got them both on today but found the back one is not quite lining up on the sprocket side. If a put a spacer in there the disk won't line up (by about 3mm). Also can't seem to get the front calipers on - my old disk was a little worn and just can't get the space wide enough to get over the new disk (both 4mm but the old one was worn nearer to 3 - do I have to take the calipers apart or let out the fluid?)
I've got so frustrated I've wasted 2 Saturdays on this I've put the wheels on TradeMe here. See pics of the bike on my other thread
