How to determine exact age of bike?

I am unsure as to where this thread really belongs, so it will either temporarily or permanently reside in this here forum.

I wish to determine, within a months accuracy if at all possible, the date of which my bike came out the ass of the assembly line.
Would be pretty cool to have the bike made on my birth-month!

How do I go about this? The VIN code is only useful for determining the first date it was registered, yes?
What is the next useful code? Chassis? Where would I find this?

Sorry if this is a boring thing to bring up, but am rather curious.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Can't help you with a Japanese domestic market bike.... if it was Aussie, Euro, US or Canadian spec, the month of manufacture is on the VIN plate

Cut through the steering head and count the number of growth rings.

There are no growth rings in the steering head . What a silly answer.

No, what you must do is examine the bike's teeth. Or, you could get it radio-carbon dated.

That's no good, that only gives the year. He wants to know the month.
He should bend it over and look up its date...

I know when i worked for honda we could use a bikes chassis number for parts enquirys and it would give us alot of specific information about that exact bike...

I can't remember if you could get exact manufactur months, but suzuki may be different, best bet is ring the dealer as you say.

Will do. It'd be interesting to see what else I';d be able to pull up on it.
'pparently (one of) the original owners had it on waiheki for a fair time.
    Shall pursue the Suzuki's.

    Cheers gents!
