Yes....he would also get his own personal hand written "SHUT THE F%$& UP" note stuck to the bike as well.....awesome.

Yeah, I was thinking along these lines too. A taste of his own medicine might be just the ticket.

Try to talk to him one more time warning what the neighbors might do. Then if you really think the neighbors will do something, it may be best if you did the said something first, just so you know your bike wont cop the blame or punishment. Calling the Phantom Expander sounds like the way to go. .

OK - I'll take it seriously... ish.

Ring noise control. They have the power to confiscate the thing.

Talk to the neighbours - tell them you're pissed off about it too and are trying to get him to stop then leave it be. Word will get out, the neighbours will box heads and it won't be yours.

So you don't know if the neighbours have a problem. But you have a problem. And your problem is that you are concerned about what the neighbours may be thinking. And how they may be feeling about your flatmate and you.

You worry too much about what other people think. They may not have a problem at all. So if you wanted to know if they had a problem at all you could just ask them.

But then this seems to be making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I guess you also have a problem with the flatmate doing this but just don't mention it.

Regardless, if you want it to end why not just let the flatmate know that you have a problem with it and after 10pm and before 7am you want him to be gentle with the throttle. Let him know if he can't do that for you then you'd have a problem and does he want to have issues with his flatmate.

Personally I wouldn't even get into the neighbour thing.

He may just need to ring it's neck at night for the outstanding noise to quiet he gets. If so ask him to go down the road and do it in another street in far far away land.

So how long have you had this problem of living your life based on what the rest of the world thinks?

    lol.... have a good day.

Yeah, but it's unrealistic isn't it.
Skidmark would have to find a job to pay the rent first. That hasn't happened in the last 5 years, it's not about to happen now. He'll just continue to do what he does best.

Errr if you say so... for the last 5 years i have worked about 4 of them...

anyways back on topic, flatmate has only just got this bike and has lived here longer than i have...

I don't have an issue with it i am not currently working so not fussed re it keeping me up, more concerned about him waking the neighbours every morning at 2am when the have work in the morning...

flatmate works from midday to midnight at a restaurant... comes home in the car then goes blatting on the bike, he won't take on board that he does need to keep the noise down after certain hours...

I'm trying to make him realise this before something does happen, i don't want to rock the boat with him as i still have to live here too.

more trying to make him realise the neighbours won't be happy.

i think its just a matter of time until they have had enough.

It has been every day this week so far...

hes a good guy so not going to call noise control myself on him etc, im not spiteful like that.

And my neighbours arnt exactly the type you go "talk" to.

Will figure something out i guess.

Cheers for the input guys, got some ideas from it.

    Skid.

As long as they don't get confused with it being your bike.
A guy I knew used to do the same thing, one day he came home and someone had taken to his bike with a metal pipe..not pretty
