I'd suggest if you're looking for a bike shop when you move to Taupo you head to W.O.T. Motorcycles.

Sounds like you could do with some time in the company of Katman.

He fucked up, but isn't there a law against cruel & inhumane punishment.

Put it this way - if I was to see someone talking about a lucky escape they got from doing something dumb, I would take it into account and use that knowledge with my riding. I'm simply trying to do the same for someone else who might read what I have written. Whatever you want to read into what I've put is your problem, no one elses. I don't see anyone else carrying on about my comments the way you are.
A heads up, for 99.9% of people your warning is superfluous. The other .1 well it probably doesn't matter anyway.
I must admit to being incredulous, but for the sake of clarification - it's not my problem.

When you fuck up there are 3 important things to do and you must do them in this order:

    1. Be lucky enough to survive the fuck up (don't go to step to without completing this step)

    2. Recognise that you fucked up (If everything is always someone else's fault then you will repeat the fuck up and may fail to pass step 1 next time)

    3. Change your behaviour to avoid repeating the fuck up.

Remember - not everyone gets past step 1 so if you are lucky enough to fuck up when there isn't a car coming the other way (or whatever) and you get to pass step 1 then your future survival depends on you completing step 2 & 3. We all fuck up, but the ones that carry on without learning from it are playing Russian roulette and one day will find the chamber loaded. There are only so many times you can overtake on a blind corner before you will meet something coming the other way and that number of times can be as little as 1 or 2 (ditto for many other stupid things you can do while riding).

Last weekend coming home from the Vincent Rally through the Pig Route we were passed a few time on blind corners and one of the bikes riding 2 up stayed on the wrong side of the road right around the bend... defiantly playing Russian roulette but luckily no cars were coming.

The roads are dangerous enough without going on the wrong side of the road for longer then needed.

The problem is if they get hit and injured or killed they do not think of what the person hitting them has to go through mentally and emotionally for the rest of there lives because of some dropkick with a death wish.

It sounds like they have managed to make step 1. but have failed to move on to step 2. Until they realised that they are fucking up they will continue to do it until they either:
    a. have a near miss which scares them and makes them realise they are riding in a retarded fashion
    or
    b. are killed in an accident.

This is not a situation that most of us are wanting to see on the roads.

We can only hope that they kill only themselves, and not some other innocent party, as is so often the case

My first hope would be that they wake the fuck up and stop riding like retards! But I am probably hoping in vain there.

If there is one thing that often kills bikers it is retards in cars.
If there is another thing that often kills bikers it is retards on bikes.

    To all and sundry:
If you are a retard riding a bike then I would suggest you go to a RRRS course and get a mentor and learn to not be such a retard. The less bikers I read about being killed the better.
