Neighbour's house alarm - what would you do?

Good for you checking it out. I remember a house alarm close by here that went off and sounded for 15 mins, I am not a close neighbour (cant see the house) then it stopped. Couple of hours later it happened again, then again, then again. All friggen weekend long this thing was going off. Rang the local security company (we dont have a manned station here) and they sad, yes we know all about it, nothing is wrong.

Turned out this idiot went away for the weekend, left his catflap open, so pussy could have something to eat. He did not have pet sensitive sensors so yes it went off everytime the cat farted in the house. When questioned this bloke actually had the hide to say, yes I know they are not pet sensitive, but I could not leave the cat locked out all weekend.

Have you poisoned the cat yet? Or better still, the owner AND the cat.

No he moved. Shit we had an alarm on the house when we bought it, it did not have pet sensitive sensors, so we never set it. We could not afford to change the sensors at the time. Then we got burgled, while we were asleep in our bed. ARSEHOLES! About scared the shit out of me. I borrowed some money and replaced the sensors and hey presto, try that again you fuckers!

My neighbour (across the road) has just had his house alarm go off. He's not home, his front window is wide open, and I don't have his phone number. He was burgled a few weeks ago.

OK ... two things ... he doesn't want basic home security .. leaves his windows wide open ... the alarm will not stop people going in and stealing again ....

If he happens too often .. I call noise control ....

Now only if he insists on opening the windows, setting the alarm and going out.

I think it was a mistake and as far as I know he has never done it before (and at the time I thought someone had forced it open to get in). Apparently he got a couple of kittens at Christmas and has been keeping them in the house until he can get their vaccinations up to date. He probably intended to just leave the window open a crack so they wouldn't suffocate in the heat.

He seems like a nice enough guy and his alarm has never gone off before so this incident won't put me off taking action if it happens again.
