...That all truck drivers are pervy weirdos that can spot a pair of tits in a wing mirror from 5km away, even when they're hidden in a black jacket designed for practicality not looks?

    Hmmm... you may be right.

Back in South Africa I was on-site in Jo'burg with a a rather strange chap called Willem. We're heading home after a day battling with a client when, doing about 160km/h in his Jetta heading down the motorway, he whips his head to the side and says: "Did you see that?"

    And I'm like, "What? What?"

    "The tits on that girl!"

What girl?!? Somehow, I have no idea how, he managed to spot the girl, down a residential street off the side of the motorway at speed and she impressed him to terrible degree.

He had a kind of radar. Maybe the truckie did too? Anyway, it's good to hear that kind of story! Whoot for Klingon!

When cars move over to let me past, it's more than that. It's also an acknowledgement that they've seen me, and so whether I think the move is unnecessary or not, it's always good to know that there's a safe area.

One thing I remember from driving a cage, is watching out there's not two bikes going past at the same time, on either side. I make a point of not splitting if I see a bike on the other side of the cars, unless it's a bike I'm wanting to get past.

As for truckies, I like most of them. They are generally more considerate of bikes than any other road user.

Sounds like he was in an Isuzu, only ones i know of with fold ins. except the Hino hybrids.

And you can tell by the hips. Especially if you see the biker lean the bike.

guys tend to lean with their shoulders. girls lean with their hips.

Yes. It's why (most) girls are slow.

    My experience:
In general truck drivers are courteous, professional road users.
In general bus & taxi drivers are arseholes.

    YMMV

But then yeah, the squeal-and-giggle reaction may have given him some clues after that...
Oh contrary to what you may think...

...you have no idea dahlink. we can spot those thing from a mile away.

Your posture, shoulder proportions, hips and all the other stuff make it obvious for us males to know when a female is approaching.

make no mistake, he knew it was YOU

Nice one from the truckie. Blow him a kiss next time

Interesting. The thing that really surprised me was that the mirror didn't fold back towards me, it folded away - towards the front of the truck. I have never seen such a thing. And with the mirror being on the end of quite a long stalk it did look very strange.
