    finding registration without a number plate

    I'm looking at buying a 'classic' bike needings some work to get it road legal again, unfortunately the current owner never got number plates with it and as such it is proving hard to find out much about the bike.

    The bike does have a frame number though, am I able to track down the most recent registration from the frame number?

    It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    You can try, ring LTNZ (or whatever they call themselves) and see if they can find it in their system... can try Carjam too

    Cajam won't work, needs either a rego or a proper VIN. Tried it. LTSA can tell you IF it's still in the system.
