So, what went down just out of Richmond this arvo?

Steaming out of Richmond toward Motueka this arvo around 6pm (in a cage alas, I have no say in the matter); and I see what must be damn near every rozza in the Souf Island, setting up a "Police Operation" (thaz what the signs said) on the other side of the road.

And a wee bit further on, many many many bikes (at least four score by my estimate) heading toward said Police Operation

So. Who were the bikes, and what went down at the "Police Operation" ? Just cos I is nosey.

There was one ecilop who didn't get to go to the ball, from West Auckland...
Since his cage was suffering frontal damage just outside the Foodtown in Tat Souf.
    Possibly collided with an ecanlumba!

Haha was it? Good fucken job if it was. Last time me and my family (all of us on bikes at the time) came head to head with a pack of idiots on a poker run, the cunts crossed the centerline and swerved right at us, frightening fuck out of the learners. Cops following with lights flashing couldn't do a thing. I hope the fuzz took all their drugs and held them up for hours. Fuck them.

Tractors must be getting slow these days to warrant such a drawn out ride-by

He he. I was able to expand on this today. Mrs I and I were sitting quietly in the garden of the Collingwood pub, having a quiet refreshment, to assuage the mental trauma of rowing the gutless apology for a motor vehicle foisted on to me by the rental car company (not merely gutless but also and equipped with that most vile of abominations, an automatic transmission) over that wonderful Takaka hill without having to leave the damn idiot thing in '1' the whole way. And why would a 4 valve DOHC engine only rev to 6500 anyway?

Mrs I has noticed that almost every pub we pass has a bunch of bikes praked up outside, and inferred a disparaging relationship between the attraction between bikes and pubs, and the police attention observed last night.

As we looked over the harbour, along the road to the pub we saw a bunch of bikes stop.

"Oh,", said Mrs I, "look at all those bikes, I bet they'll be coming here to the pub".

"Oh no", said I, "not those ones".
"What do you mean , how can you know?"
"I can tell. Those are members of the Gay Christian Motorcycle Club. You can tell by the orange bikes. That is sort of the trademark of the GCMC , they paint their bikes orange. And being both gay and Christian, they will definitely not set foot in a pub"
"A likely story", scoffs Mrs I , who for some completely incomprehensible reason is often loath to accept what I tell her at face value. I can't imagine why. "We shall see, I bet they come here, a bunch of bikers passing by a pub indeed".

But , sure enough, they all started up and rode off , without coming near the pub.

So now Mrs I is convinced that an orange bike indicates a Gay Christian motorcyclist. And sooner or later she will spot a KTM and , making friendly conversation say "Oh so you are one of those Gay Christian motorcyclist. I can tell by your bike". And my work will be done

(I just noticed the preponderance of KTMs and assumed some sort of adventure ride, probably involving sheep, but not pubs. )
