Why do you even own a bike then? (even if it is a Suzuki) Surely you'd be more happy on a scooter? Oh wait, what's that? You enjoy owning a SV1000 more than a scooter? Baaaack to the start...

Just because you are on a motorcycle, doesn't mean the sun shines out of your backside and you can do no wrong.
How is it unpredictable to ride in your own lane? How is it erratic to continuously swerve smoothly left and then right?

There's 'traffic' on a Saturday morning south of Drury on the motorway? Doubt it.

Who cares if someone thought they looked stupid, doesn't mean shit. I see cars not indicate and think they're stupid, doesn't mean all car drivers are stupid idiots who are dangerous.

They weren't doing any wrong, so give it up.

Can see where OP is coming from, and to be fair..he was there, we were not.

Like the old "Dangerous overtaking maneuver"...in the eye of the beholder!

There are idiots among us, who will deny it? But as for what the cagers think......

I have been riding, driving car and truck for 30 odd years, and in general terms, I am yet to be convinced that they think at all! Unless it is along the lines of..

"I wonder whats on the other radio station" or "What shall I have for dinner tonight"

It's good to ride "unpredictably" because it reduces the cagers liklihood of "assuming"

It's good to attract attention, cos it reduces the chances of the cager not noticing you

and its good to look dangerous, cos the cagers will only keep a safe distance from what they see as danger

In fact...I think that every now and then...a motorcyclist should drag a cager from his car and kill him. After a few stories about it in the newspaper and on TV... Cagers would be extra vigilant for bikes, keep a distance, and give way more often.

It's a safety issue isnt it!

You mean the maturity, self-control and discipline to not post a thread crying about two people not acting like robots?

Stereos should be banned in cars too because it means the driver is having way too much fun and is a danger to society.

Erratic and unpredictable means that they are constantly changing their riding pattern. Swerving side to side in your own lane sounds like a pretty predictable pattern to me.

As a motorcyclist you should be better than the average car driver... yet many motorcyclists are worse than average car drivers.

Yep for sure... But he's coming out just calling them retards, idiots, and saying that they are adding to a bad reputation. Nothing said about why they deserve those names other than describing something that is completely legal and what I (and a lot of other people by the sounds of it) would call perfectly safe.

I like your way of thinking

Speeding kills (apparently)... Not using your privilege of having a full lane to yourself to its extent.

There's a bit of a fundamental untruth being perpetuated by one side of this discussion. The public don't hate us nor are they afraid of us.

Strangers love to talk to me at petrol stations, piss stops, look outs, even at the traffic lights going to work. All of them say "Nice bike" or "I used to ride a bike" or "My hubby used to have a bike"....most common comment is "Your bike sounds sweet" coz it's got a bit of character.

I have no idea where this idea of bikers demonised by the public came from but there are a few idiots that think if they crow about it often enough it will become true. You know who you are now go and sell you fucken bikes and don't darken my screen any more!

Sadly this is very true....I have always thought that Bikers make better car drivers....but lately, with the boom in popularity that bikes have had...there seem to be very many absolute crap riders out there.

My (generalised) observations are that the worst tend to be on large cruisers, or maxi scooters.

Some of you in here are so blinded by the myth that being a biker makes you God's gift to New Zealand's roads.

The actions of the two weaving motorcyclists did not display a responsible manner of riding to those other road users around them.

If we continue to act like clowns we will continue to be treated like clowns.

A bike gives you very little protection when things go wrong in an accident. Even a minor incidence on a bike can result in nasty injuries, whereas a car driver would be fine.

For that reason alone motorcyclists should take their riding more seriously than car drivers do.
