    Not bad!
What happened at the 5.01 corner though???

The photo's are nice. Bound to make other riders want to head here for a break.

Aha! So this explains the sudden spike in New Zealand viewers

The incident at the 5min mark was my rear tire locking up on gravel. I admittedly was coming into the corner a bit too hot, but it also appears there was some resealing work around that corner recently. I never saw any signs warning about resealing work, though. When I was about to lean into the corner I realized I was on a thin layer of gravel, so I attempted to slow down...but in doing so I locked the rear wheel and slid to a stop. I was ok, though. Only damage was the tire got messed up a little, but I ended up riding another week and half on that without any issue: http://jponion.smugmug.com/photos/503286335_uXdeo-M.jpg

I can't wait to come back

Wonderful blog. You must have stopped at exactly the same spots to take photos as we did on our last tour! I'd happily head south every year. However, I live on one of the best biking roads in the north island so that will have to suffice this year!

Hope to see you back here!

Aha! The good ol' Kiwi "unsignposted road repair" trap in action!

Nice stuff. Hope to see you back again soon!
