    Congrats!! New bike time... :

HOWEVER... don't get complacent about your riding... in the grand scheme of things, even full-license holders have lots to learn!

Haha, sorry guys, I meant I just GOT my restricted (e.g "I just ate the fuck out of that pie!").... after more than two years on my learners!

But yea, hopefully soon it'll be bye bye Volty... borrowed my flatmates 2008 cbr125r for the test and even that was leagues ahead of the volty!

Thinking of applying for an exemption so I can buy a 400 or something... probably will be a bit cheaper than a 250.. I'll just say I'm really fat :P

Just do your time on the 250 like everybody else. Do a defensive driving certificate and you'll be legal on anything you like in 3 months from now

Positive steps towards motorcycling for life, instead of motorcycling for transport.

Do the defensive, and find a mentor on this site.

Trust that you got your rego and wof issues sorted.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Well he has been riding for 2 years already lol

It's only for over 25s where defensive driving will reduce restricted time to 3 months anyway.

Well then it's 6 months innit? What's that in the greater scheme of things.

Either that or our physics genius can do it his way and then start another whinge thread

Actually 12 months... Which is a year in the greater scheme of things.

He wants to try and get an exemption to be able to get a bigger bike after 2 years of riding, don't see what's wrong with that! Good on him. Having ridden his 250 longer than many others who have gone through the licensing process as soon as the time lengths are done.

    Who's choice was that?

Unless he's 7 ft tall and 18 stone why should he be exempt? As you said he's coped OK for two years on a 250 up to now.
