Good book i read recomends spotlight/floodlight vision, look thorugh the corners yes, but also notice everything on the road as well, especially that which is in your line, sounds simple but takes a bit of practice. Is probably an especially usefull technique for nz roads. Total Control, High performance street riding techniques by parks motorbooks if your looking for something good to read while you heal up. Good to hear youre getting back into it, too many ppl give up after their first off.

Well, I'm in two minds here,(can I have that many?).
I'm glad that this is not another dead rider.
I'm confused as to how if you know this corners reputation you still managed to come such a big cropper?
Anyhow there's enough of the analysis, just get better and next time practice looking at everything when riding through a corner.
Very glad to hear you have full insurance, well done on that score.
One last thing, promise me that after losing your bike and your gear YOU are going to go to the council concerned and start shit stirring till they get it fixed.I'd be happy to attend such a corner and park the bike and sit on the road if thats what it was going to take.
If you were to take any action at all I'm sure there are folk out there in KB land who would come out and help.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

    It *is* anywhere. And everywhere

Coming to a corner near you - "POTHOLES" - the directors cut.

Dogs have fleas, corners have potholes (and tree roots, and gravel). It's part of life (or, in some cases, death). It's a road, not a racetrack.
