Well IMHO if you get neon, you've gotta get one of them helmets with the furry mohican bit over the top. Then get a jacket with "Biker Boyz" patch on the back and learn how to smoke up the rear while sitting at the lights.

*quote* I'm buggered if I know how the hell your type of 250 can pull those kinda revs anyway.... 19k redline mines 9k so 10k would most likely have it valve bouncing. *quote*

my 250 red lines at 14k and max's out at 16k. if thats any help.

My 250 redlines at 19k. Its a 4 cylinder as opposed to yours being a 2 cylinder, hence lighter pistons and higher revs. Taken it there a few times but the power dies out quite rapidly after 17k.

26k? you might've been mistaken. I think even the NSR and RS250's top out at around 20k.

not many people out there with neons on their bike. i think neons would be cool at night as it would make you really stand out & cars might take more notice. blue would be my choice. go for it, dare to be different.
    ..it's another red light nightmare..

Doubt it, they don't go that high, maybe 13 or 14. They are twin's so the pistons are heavier and hence don't rev as high.

I believe there were some HRC cbr250's that revved to around the 22k mark, but I am pretty sure the cbr250's and zxr250's are the highest revving road bikes. Think there were some straight 6 250 race bikes made in the 70's or something and they might have revved that high but not much else.

Ok guys, thanks alot for all the 'constuctive criticism' which I am taking alot of it as, but I think i will go with what 750Y says and be unique and hook some up. Sorry to all those who oppose. If you think its an insult(sorry) theres no need to worry. I am only doing this cos i cant have a faster bike at the moment so i am subsituting speed for pretties and with more speed i would crash and die so i think its an ok subsitute.

(OT: Aaron, i dont work in town, i work out in hornby, so it aint me )

P.S It wont be for very long.

On a more constructive note, the neons may be a nuisance to other road users on a bike, as unlike on a car, a bike rotates about its axis exposing the underside. This could be quite confusing to some other people on the road. Maybe you should install it with a switch so you could turn them off in normal use? Then turn them on for bling value when in town?

You should probably go to VTNZ station, or give the LTNZ a call and see if they are allowed on bikes.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Well, it's not something I would care for myself, but part of being a biker is expressing one's own individuality. If we were conformists, none of us would be bikers, we'd be driving around in Toyota Corollas.

So if it works for you, go for it. (Not of course that you need anyones approval anyway)

Same as choppers, personally I don't care for them, but one man's meat is another's poison, and I don't think that bikers should ever diss another biker's choice of mount. Some people may very well dislike the styling of sports bikes (must admit I'm not that keen on it myself)

(Just one point you may need to either be careful what you do or keep a close eye out for Mr Plod. There are new lighting rules that are supposed to come out in April which place a lot of new restrictions on lights, especially what they call courtesy lights, and are not very bike friendly (how surprising))

Go for it and good luck

Good on ya Tef, we were all that age once and wanted to do something differant

The highest reving bike that I know of is the NR500 that redlined at 20,000rpm.... only a jet engine could rev harder than that, the next closest would be the RC166 the Honda 250 six of 1967 at 18,000rpm then the Guzzi V8 0f 54 at and the NR750 14,000rpm...... still anything over 10k puts the shits up me
    cheers DD
