Can't give it up yet else my nickname will be true instead of just a somewhat clever way of sayin I don't stay in one place very long. Not quite an outcast though and don't want to join gang prefer something like this site wich is a bunch of biker enthusiasts. I do, however, want something to make me stand out a bit.

Cant believe they get away with it. Cant believe they even care that much - guess it demonstates their mentality.

Not all patches mean one is on the wrong side of the law.

The defence force MC started after I had left would have joined that.
I have had no problems with the patch I used to wear all the time, only sometimes now. I now just have a plain white cross thats on my old jacket haven't transfered it to my new one as yet. The guys who knew me respected my stand for God. Never did join a gang as such. I belong to the Ulysses club cause it is a bit like this site people keen on motorcycling. With age alot of the pretentions have faded and its all for good fun together now.
Would I wear a Ulysses patch, yeah proberly but would rather wear a cross instead. Look out for it sometime - no excuse for not noticeing me.

You know you don't have to be in the armed forces to join right? Saw a sign in the yammy shop here sayin they are looking for members, current, ex or non-military bikers.

In all seriousness... You could easily become ex full stop and I suspect it won't be their ears getting stuff shoved in... Please don't underestimate some peoples ability to take extreme offence a action at such things, trivial as they seem to you.

If you want a symbol, don't put it on your back..

Ditto. Looked at joining but it all seemed a big hassle, and came across as rather precious.

    Big hassle:spudwhat:
Attend three meetings or rides fill in the form with accompanying monies no hassle. It sure is better value than the Lions club I attend. Its not everyones cup o tea though. To attend the local meet its a 100km round trip so get a good short ride in at least once a month then theres the club rides each month though shift work seems to prohibit me from going on most of those. Looking forward to attending some rallies when the dreaded shifts allow, next one is in Gisbourne in July when all the dots line up next.

Its good to sign up as more members give more political clout when bikers issues need submissions given to government.

Yeah I read the rules. But there's all that palaver about applying to the Branch Coordinator, then being approved by the National Treasurer, and demonstrating a "long standing committment to motorcycling" etc (why would you want to join a motorcyle club if you weren't interested in motorcycles ?)

I belong to BRONZ for the political thing. Though I have to say that they seem to be a real girl's blouse, timid to the point of supineness.

I reckon that what NZ biking needs in something like the UK MAG , a biker political front with some balls.
