Thread: So why did you do it?

  1. #16
Because my Mother told me I had too, cars were too expensive. She bought me my bike for $60,which was more than 3 times my weekly wage, and I paid her back at $5 per week.So blame my mother for putting me on this path....

So if you've got a bike you must be certifiably nuts!!!!! ...but I'm sane and your not!
    That's me in a nutshell.
Am I madder than the rest? I have a bike that I cannot reliably ride, so am forced to cage it.

Thats says it all for me, when I'm riding, reading about bikes, looking at bikes, talking about bikes or thinking about bikes, I get this feeling...like nothing else matters...theres no war in the world, no child abuse, no hate, no anger...no negative-ness...just positive love, shared with every one. Life is a just a big long perfect curve in the hills...no bumps or gravel.

    Ahhhh just perfect!

Probably takes me 15 mins putting my wet weather gear over my leathers, a bit of auri on the visor and I will stay as dry and warm as you will in your car and be able to see prety good to. The big idea in riding is you luv it, you breathe it, you talk it, not like been cooped up in a car with someone shouting in yer ear, slow down your going to fast or any other stupid remarks.

I started riding bikes because everyone told me that I shouldnt.
I'm riding a bike now because I'd be miserable if I didnt.

Same here. Back in the 70's (1970s not 1870s) bikes were the cheap alternative. I had to buy my own bike, Suzuki T125, because Dad bought my brothers and I an old shitter of a Vespa 150SS to learn on. Mind you if you could ride one of those things with a bit of confidence real bikes were a breeze.

I love riding, but I like driving my car, riding my mountain bike, even just getting out for a walk. But I love riding my bike, and cleaning it, and lubing it, and .................
