    Sidi Rose Boots

Okay just a question for anyone in the know....

Recently I ordered a pair of Sidi Rose boots from a Motorcycle Shop up north here.... I finally got the call that they were in... Made sure they fit... Paid for them... Upon leaving I had a funny feeling as they didn't resemble what was in the picture I was shown etc etc...

The label on the box said "mod. stivali ivy tepor" Now I pointed this out.. And asked him if he was sure they were the right boots that I had ordered... I was told that yes they were.. And that they aren't known as "sidi rose" boots in new Zealand and that they are known as ivy, I was told they are the exact same boots... I paid the same price for these as I would have for the rose..

As I drove home I had a feeling to check up on this.. Came online and looked back through a thread previously posted about the sidi rose boots... I was correct, the boots I have come home with look nothing like I was shown they would... (they don't look the same big deal, but now I'd like to look into this further..)

I called the guy back and told him that they are infact not the same boots.. He then says "oh yeah I checked after you left and they don't stock the sidi rose in new zealand anymore" I did mention to him that he should have told me that they weren't what I had ordered before I actually left the shop..

Now can anyone confirm... Do they still stock Sidi Rose boots in New Zealand? They were retailing for $350.00.

When I looked through boots online he showed me a few other pairs, 1 pair of which retailed for $250.00 i'm not exactly what pair of boots they were but now I have a feeling that the $250.00 pair are the ones I've come home with which if so leaves me $100.00 short in pocket, hence I'm checking up on facts.

Does the Sidi Ivy retail for the same as the rose, or would anyone know if they actually retail for less?
    Any help would be appreciated.

The New Zealander distributor for Sidi doesn't stock the Sidi Rose boots anymore. Looks like they've been superseeded.
The Ivy Tepor boot is 25c dearer than the RRP for the Rose.

Motomart in Lower Hutt have at least one pair in stock and last time I went into Wellington Motorcycles they had a pair too. Sidi did a pair of rose look-a-like boots that may have been called rose also, but are summer weight, so breath and are not waterproof that were about $100 cheaper if I remember right, could they be those ones? Are they black or the silver ones, or do they look nothing like the rose boots?

They are nothing like the rose boots which is why I posted asking.. Well in their look they aren't not sure on all the specifics..I had ordered a pair of the Sidi rose boots... He didn't bother telling me til after I had purchased them and questioned him over the boots.. Which is what I felt was wrong for him to have done.. Plus, he told me that the Sidi Rose wasn't called Rose in NZ and that they were infact known as the Ivy... It wasn't til I called him back and told him they were in fact not the same boot and that they were different that he actually came out and told me that the Rose wasn't being stocked anymore... Just feel as a salesmen that he should have been honest and told me before I left the store.. Saves the customer feeling they have been done wrong..

Was just checking up to make sure he hadn't done me wrong and ordered the cheaper pair and sold them to me for more than what they were worth... Because we had looked at 2 different pairs of boots..

Well I tried. Do a google search on them to see what they are. Or take them back if they aren't what you wanted.

The Rose was definitely a Rose when I bought mine. The vented ones were called the Summer Rose.

Glad you got your question about price sorted out kittie BUT if that's the way that salesman's going to treat you, I wouldn't be going back there! I think that's incredibly rude, not to mention dishonest.

If he thinks he can treat his customers like that and they'll just put up with it and keep coming back, then he's a pretty poor salesman. And you can tell him I said so, too.

if it were a rose by any other name t'would smell as sweet.

I just bought a pair of boots on ebay (I have a pair of sidi size 41 and apparntly the sizing is consistent across thier range) and got a very good deal, even including the $36USD to ship them.

Rose is not an Ivy they are totally different. Ive been trying to track down a Rose sz 6. Doesnt seem to be any left in country. Why change something if it works??? They were a really popular style if boot. Ivy is nothing like them.

Sidi boots are great and I like them. But I prefer to use BMW leather boots more.
