"TRACK WARR'S" has a nice ring to it

    edit: rear tyre progress?
Firstly .. rear tyre can wait !!
2ndly. Too old like my bike !!

No the thing that probably most puts me off is that once you get on the track you become obsessed with that style of riding.
Now he's me; there is no track at the end of my drive, but there is a road. The road demands respect. All manner of dangers out there, which you can try to minimize, but its easy to use and the rewards are greater so-long as the law dont bite.

Lol, i was just about to ask why no-one came on the Wednesday night ride this afternoon, and realised it isn't Wednesday today... Me, Carver, and Sidewinder met up at Caltex: Dinsdale at 3:00pm today and decided to head over to Raglan... got down the bottom of the Divi and then decided due to the rain that was starting to not go to Raglan after all... got to the SH22 turnoff, and took that up to Ngaruwahia. Me and Carver froze our pants off, and Sidewinder is a crazy mofo... he was going through one right-hand upward-inclined hill, i noticed the back tire of his bike start stepping out, which he held extremely well, when he went to lean back up after the corner, it jumped up, and he got a nasty case of headshake from the handlebars... was quite a good ride, except for the cold and the wet, which i pussied out of by riding slow... another slow rider was Carver, who due to the knobbly tire on his DR, decided to go at a 'as slow as me' pace, and sat quite peacefully behinid me up the whole SH22 section (well, after the gravel part at least)

Ok I'll put my hand up
You'll go slower for it tho and use more tyres
Example from SB "Sanx" with his Honda RR tyre gone in 2300kms

I know someone who might be thinking about selling his since he's juist replaced it with a brand spanky Fireblade.

Well, it remains to be seen whether I will be seen at this Wednesday's ride. Something has absolutely thrashed my rear tire—I suspect the nasty jagged rocks which passed for a road on that mission that Jamie and I took the other weekend. I only really noticed it yesterday when my wife, cunning beast that she is, said that the rear tire was making a strange scratchy noise on the road and that the back end felt wobbly compared to normal. I hadn't noticed it at all, which goes to show that gradual deterioration is a nasty thing and also, no doubt, that I am a plonker. Anyway, I went immediately to a gas station, because Sarah is no fool and better safe than sorry, and found my rear tire had 25 psi instead of 42.

Needless to say that a swift examination of the tire surface followed. I know I should check the whole surface every time I ride, but I only check the visible part. I don't wheel my bike into/out of the garage so I don't get an opportunity to critique the tire. Maybe I should. A full check revealed several nasty little holes of indeterminate depth, several heavy scratches, and one gouge that looks like someone took to the tire with a steak knife.

So I repressurized it and checked the front as well, and found that was 30 psi instead of 36. No noticeable issues with its surface, but still a bit of a worry. Today I checked the rear again and it had lost 4 psi, so I'm working on the assumption that at least one of those damage areas has created a slow leak of some kind. So I am going to need to push forward my plans to put some Avon Storms on. But whether I'll be able to do it by Wednesday remains to be seen. I wasn't expecting to spend an extra $500 this week.

So I'll let you guys know, k.

Don't let it worry you Bnonn, even when they cruise they're hard to keep up with, unless you throw caution to the wind.
Mind you it's realative to how much time you spend on the bike, ride as often as those two and your gonna get better.
    I didn't think a VFR750 was that quick - I think it's a trick
as for that hornet - I think the riders haunted by a pedegree.
Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on
