"If life gives you a shit sandwich..." someone please complete this expression
I posted the following comment in an existing thread about NZ'ers not being as good as aussies in a Rant and Rave thread and my post got PD'd.
Yes it was a childish remark for the sake of amusement only, but it was somewhat in context of the theme of the thread. Fair enough in the topic-specific forums, but if surely we can at least have fun in Rant and Rave.....?Originally Posted by Squeak the Rat
Inconsitency is bound to happen. No formal quaflilications are required in order to become a mod, nor is it compulsary for us to attend to some kinda seminar on how to be a mod. So what you're witnessing is individual mod's personalities shining through, and their own interpretation of the very loose rules we have around here.
Some people (and mods are people) simply have a more conservative outlook on life here on KB.
If we want real democracy here - how about we vote for new mods every 6 months. I'll vet them all first of course. And yes....I accept bribes of cash and gifts (note I didn't say 'or').
This weeks international insult is in Malayalam:

You Frog Fucker
Isn't this a privately owned Webb site forum?
I thought it belonged to SpankMe, if so, he who pays the piper calls the tune!
I will obey the forum rules or go find another forum, freedom of choice, simple really but I guess you are also free to have and express your own opinion too!
My vote, if I had one, is probably No 3.John.
That sounds a little strange. Surely a mod would have an interest in the section s/he is responsible for?
Like thinking about where to put a post, that informs members about bikes on TV (Paeroa street racing), then deciding to put it in GBR so that many members might see it. I was bad, because it should have been hidden away in the racing section where a lot more people would see it (tui anyone?)... Infringements... big deal.
I read somewhere that a "guide for mod's" was being put together. Consistency appears to be a concern of some members and this might alleviate possible concerns.

Not another one of these threads. I can never get past the first sentence because after that all I can hear in my head is blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
No one ever said this is a democracy. As I’ve said before it’s a fascist dictatorship and I’m head fascist.
Don’t understand why people complain about stuff being moved to PD. Has the thread been deleted? No. Can you still post in it? Yes. So what’s the problem?
Don’t like the way the site is run? go create your own site. I’ll even help you set it up.
I was asked if i would like to be a mod, i accepted, it didn't bother me where i was placed, like i said, since being a mod i have started reading Rate & Rave, (eg i am normally reading all new posts every hour from about 8am-9-10pm, in this section alone)
Some things often hard to put in areas, where one person things it belongs is total different to another one, but that often comes down to general mod.
Perhaps learning the name would be a start?
So why get infringed for a concious decision on where to put it? As you say, we all have differing opinions. Do we then have to think "mod-X will want it in GBR, but mod-Y would want this in news"? If so, we might as well ALL start off our posts in PD and save the faffing around.![]()
