I'm just going out to put a few more k's on it, I think I'm going to have fun. Lots of fun.

It's nowhere near as vicious as my k6, probably a little bit poofy like a honda. But it's fucking quick. It's stupid quick.

    Even in my hands.
Nothing 'poofy' about it Bruva! I bet you now realize you can get from A to B far quicker on that beast than you could've on your K6! And it's definately more powerful than a K6. That's the best bit!

I took it for a quick blat today and concure with Dovers impressions. However, it's still got that cheap & nasty Suzuki feel to it and even the homeless kids of Papakura were laughing at how ugly it was and all they had were for transport were bare feet.

I'm pretty sure, I read him saying, it's so much easier to ride...and, I'm also sure, he's ridden many a new K6 as well.

Also, it's WRITE up, not right up.

i had a quick play and from my perspective its pretty tame until you get to 9,000rpm's then the real fun begins. not at all aggressive like the k5/k6 low down and hence where people say it can be ridden quicker.

i remember a write up in one of the pommie mags about the new cbr1000rr after the journo realised that him thinking it was gay was a mistake, just because it wsn't a hooligan didn't mean it wasn't fast. Quite the opposite, smooth and usable power is actually better.. and i think this is Suzukis thinking when they created this engine.

initially i thought it was gayer than my cbr600rr until i realised Dover had put it in c mode...

i could see myself riding this thousand and being capable, Not like on a k5/6.

I guess I should write a full review.

Ok, first things first, it's fucking ugly.

It looks like Suzuki gave Stevie Wonder some paper mache and asked him to drop acid and design a superbike for them. Fairings all over the place like some sort of picasso bike and the nastiest blue and white colour scheme I've seen on a GSXR. It's a fucking pig and the twin cans not only look like an afterthought but it appears they came out of the Hyosung or Zhong Shen parts bin. Hideous.

Sit on it and things start to improve, the seat is comfy and it feels a lot like the 750k6 but not as slim. The instruments are clear and tell you all you need to know, it took me a minute to figure out how to work out the "ghey" buttons. You have to hold one of them for a couple of seconds for the display to show what mode you are in. I stuck it in A and left it for the most part.

Fire it up and it sounds a bit shit, those cans have the same aural properties as they do visual and need to be junked. Quick.

It's got the standard Suzuki "slick as a pimp" gearbox but as I got moving I thought something was wrong. Isn't A the Suzuki setting? It's a fucking pussycat, too easy to ride. From idle through to about 9 grand I felt I may as well be on boomer's nuclear sewing machine. The ride was firm but plush and noticed how little it squatted or dived under gas or brakes, very stable.

I tootled out of town and once I was through Whitford on the long way home I opened it up a bit, it's deceptively quick. It's easy to ride quick. It whir's away between your legs like a gas turbine and it handles with precision. It's almost boring.

The brakes are the same as the K5/6 in feel and the way they stop you, pretty good, but having ridden the 750k6 I still feel those are the brakes which set the benchmark, particularly in the GSXR range.

    That's about it isn't it?

I'd write a big speil, but I fear all the shit that could be said about it has been in a million tests, reveiws, con's, and bullshit.

Want a bike to go fuck off fast??
Want a bike to do wheelies in top?? Pick it up in forth and ride thru?
Want a bike that will do 167km/h in first?
Want a bike that is as happy sideways as it is on one wheel as it is at full throttle?
Anyone in the area, go check out the new Blackies on Pikok hill. Thats how much I liked this bike.
If you think you can handle it, or would WANT to handle it, go get one.
It checks ALL the boxes. Nuff said.
Bloody young hooligan!!! Next thing you will be encouraging other racers into hooliganism....
