Yeah, I always intend to wave, but sometimes it just ain't convenient...or sometimes I just plain don't see until it's too late (sorry to everyone who thinks they were ignored...you weren't).Me too! Unless I'm distracted or have both hands busy or in dreamland and don't notice you until you're past...
eg I was passed by one guy one the way to work on Friday - I nodded as he passed - he didn't nod back. I thought that woz rude....until I was passed by the same guy on the way home that night....and he waved...
In welly, I think people are pretty cool about the whole thing, and mostly wave unless it's inconvenient.

??? since when has waving to someone that you affiliate with and share a common interest been PC??? If that's PC, then PC is a good thing...
PC is "the tail wagging the dog", the "minority holding sway over the majority" and just the lack of application of a) responsibility; or b) common sense. Mostly someone else deciding that the majority don't have a) or b) and therefore must put rules (usually legislation) around it to make them feel better.........rant overHEHE

Demanding that people wave just because they ride a motorcycle is exactly the same logic that resulted in only white people being allowed into Sun City.
The waving thing comes up with dreary repetitiveness.
"People who don't wave are wankers, therefore people who do wave are cool, so we should have a Kiwibiker wave to identify the REALLY cool bikers" - who are actually geeks because they hang out on a website. Which means by definition they aren't cool, so a special Kiwibiker wave won't be cool.
The common thread has been a desire to compel people to wave because they ride a motorcycle. How is that NOT PC?

I have NO ulterior motive to make people wave...all I said was that it is good to wave (doesn't it make you feel good about being a biker???).

This thread is just one of many, many threads, making comments about people who don't wave back.
There is a consistent thread through all these discussions, over a period of years, that people SHOULD wave and the people who don't are rude. That's just simply peer pressure.
If I made it feel like I was picking on you in particular Manxman then I am sorry as it does indeed look like that.
It is howver frustrating to have to go over and over the same old ground with fundamentally the same result.
99% of KB say that people who don't wave are wankers.
The 1% who say that you don't HAVE to wave are obviously deluded then. Well I don't think us 1%ers are - just ride your own ride and don't let stuff distract you from the main chance.

Once again my thoughts.....seems that everyone waxs on about the good old days when everyone waved....CRAP....I have been riding for 27 years and not everyone waved then either.....wave if you like, dont wave if you like..who gives a flying rats ass about it anyway..build a bridge and get over it.......its more important to hope that a fellow biker will stop if you need help on the roadside......please any mods out there put a ban on anymore waving threads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now time for a lie down...hehehehehe
