    Can you weld aluminium?

Hey everyone, I have a little hole in my engine/clutch cover.

Anyone out there want to weld it back up? I'll give you a beer or two.

    Cheers

i think you cant weld aluminum that easily, toxic fumes or something, least on an oxy/acy set, i'd go with the malebal stuff just ask to make sure its heat resistant. should be good ive seen it used to fix radiators before.

i'd recommend running the bike on the center stand for a while before taking it out though. be a shame to have it break and you not notice.

I've seen Selleys Knead-It do amazing things, never pretty but always effective.

Most Alloys are piss easy to weld, unless its alloyd with a high percentage of magnesium, then it maybe a cunt.

Brazing should be easy with the right flux, alloys...

[when i think about it, i was stoned and fell asleep in my metalurgy classes.. take my post with a grain of salt]

    good luck
