I think there are plenty of facilities at Coleridge Power Station village.

Since NZED was disestablished corporatised and broken up all of the village facilities are now under private management and last I had anything to do with it they were looking good!

Send a scouting party out to find out whats there now. Should be a good ride out from Christchurch. (or Rakaia Bill) Cheers John.

The Sprot bikes will be just fine.... not sure about the sport bikes though.

Chris, you're the man, or is it just great minds... As you are already onto this, how about looking at doing it for this year's also. I am in for a badge for last year.

I think there were about 23 at last years.

I asked Spank in the weekend about the use of the KB logo for a badge and he didn't seem to have any problems. If people think that is a good idea, would be good to PM Spank to confirm.
I have just found out that they have removed the word gullible from the dictionary

There's a few facilities at the Coleridge Power Station village, then there's Lake Coleridge Station which has facilities at either end of the lake though to get to it there's 6km of heavy shingle rd to the main homestead and then another 20km of shingle up to the top of the lake. Or Ryton Station roughly halfway up the lake.

You can shove terrace downs that's unless your shouting

Lake Lyndon Rd is regularly graded & hides plenty of axle bending ruts for 4x4s so it'd be a careful journey on a roadbike

Looking at places like Terrace Downs is detracting from the atmosphere of a weekend were we can enjoy ourselves without worrying to much about what we get up to
Places like Otematata have all the amenities we require etc plus the appeal of of unique areas that general public don't get to see.

As this is going to be an annual event, what the possibility that each year around this time a thread such as this gauges numbers that will be attending, appoints two KBers to pick a location (that could remain a mystery until the time & has to be different from the previous year) that is set within certain specifications, and allows the chosen two time to pick the spot & do the necessary arranging and the attendees time to plan & prepare for the weekend away.

Thanks Silo, yeah, great minds etc!
Of Course I will, And the reason I'm not using KB Logo is that I can utilise a pictorial photo of the chosen site/local feature of the area we choose each year. Instead of like rallys where they just change the badge colour each year, we will have a background picture and date to remember each yearly event.

Another little thought, Dansey Pass Camping ground and motor camp!

There are cabins and camping spots, we used to go there years ago with the kids and fosic for gold etc.(obviously I never found the Klondike)

Most of you must have been past it at sometime it's on the North Otago side of the pass, sealed all the way! Cheers John.

That is a great spot in there and it would work well for a get together. The only issue its a long way for those up the North end of the Island (is there anyone North of Rangiora planning on coming?? that doesn't just happen to ride a four cylinder 400cc cruise missile?). It would be great for those of us between Rangiora and Balclutha and the Hinterlands
